Are you worried that your credit score will nosedive due to opening so many accounts at once?flaneurs_lobster said:
I'd give it a couple of days (and transfer in/out a couple of quid) just to make sure the new account is solid. In the case of this Halifax offer there is no requirement for direct debits to be set up and switched so it should be good to go.StevenGude said:I want to set a new account up with another bank to br able to switch to Halifax and take advantage of this
How long do you usually have to have account open before you can switch?
Just started switch to Halifax with a Metro account set up on 16/11. I try to have a spare doner account ready to be sacrificed when a new offer appears. The next one will be a second current account I've just created at Nationwide or possibly the Monzo account I've just opened having swapped the last one a month ago.
Spreadsheets are your friend.(Halifax, metro, nationwide, monzo?)
This is what I do for fun.
Fortunately I'm in the position of not needing credit (other than a mobile contract) so my credit score is irrelevant.0 -
I've got about 8 current accounts now mainly for their linked savers and never had a single issue with getting credit (I only need a mortgage as all cards, loans etc cleared).comeocome said:

This is a quick payer! Got my account open and requested the switch on 29th (I already had a Halifax credit card so able to see it online without waiting on post). Asked switch to complete on 8th December but incentive has hit the account today.

are Halifax on the ball regarding dates of a previous incentive? i know some banks are better than others at this.
Rustled up a donor account today and have just requested a switch to my second existing Halifax account (I have had the April 2020 reward on my first Halifax account, so this might test if they are tracking individual accounts rather than the account holders). 10 days from today is the 13th, so 6 days to test out.0 -
If you areldy have an account with them, is there any credit search for Lloyds ??flaneurs_lobster said:

I have an active credit card account with Halifax, and also a long empty web-saver, but no current account. Am I considered an existing customer for the purposes of a switch?Their guidance is slightly confusing.0

The T&C for this offer make no differentiation between existing and new customers AFAICT, you just need to move a current account from another bank to a Halifax Rewards current account using CASS. You can't have received a switch bonus from them since April 2020.Calidad said:I have an active credit card account with Halifax, and also a long empty web-saver, but no current account.
