  • I added my £50 into my Amazon account.
no chance with Asda for my husband, after a call to their helpline it was established it had to be spent at
    physically at their checkout.
since our nearest Asda is over 20miles away, it will be some time before it’s spent,
will make sure the whole amount will get spent  in one visit.

Finally got round to choosing an Amazon voucher - received it via email and added it to my Amazon account via Your Account / Gift Cards & Top Up (or 'Manage gift card balance' if you're using the app) without any issues.

The voucher email from simplythankyou.co.uk did go straight to my Gmail spam folder though, as mentioned above.

There's no need to use the whole voucher in a single order - any unused balance will simply remain credited to your account.

That's what happens if you add a voucher to your account in the way I described above though - I'm not sure what happens if you add a voucher code at the checkout, although I'd be surprised if the same didn't happen if you chose that method instead.

Amazon vouchers are valid for 10 years, IIRC.

Pretty sure the '....spent in one visit' comment by Sally is referring to the second half of her post and her hubbys Asda voucher ....with her Asda being 20 miles away.....!!!

I posted on this thread back in December - I still have not received my voucher, it is long overdue. Last I heard from Santander (after I said I want to raise a complaint in their chat) they said they are "awaiting response from the voucher provider" - that was 6 weeks ago. I got 50 pounds credit as "they appreciate I have been waiting a while"...

That would have been the voucher value too... I explicitly asked whether this replaces the voucher and they said no, I should still get that. Now another almost 2 months have passed and I heard nothing. Can I raise another complaint about the same thing?

It's not really about the money for me but about the principle of getting the bank fulfil their obligations... not sure what I should do.

You've got nothing to lose by complaining again and trying to chase this up and at least your worst-case scenario means you did end up £50 better off, plus it was cash which is better than a voucher tied to one retailer.

As the Asda voucher has to be used at the checkout, does the full £50 have to be spent in one transaction? Could I buy a £50 gift card so as to spend it as and when?

Yes, you can use the voucher in multiple transactions

Santander ISA opened March 22nd.  ISA Transfer commenced  online on March 23rd and transferred into Santander March 25th. Voucher choice arrived April 5th, I had an Amazon voucher. It was sent within a few minutes, but arrived into Gmail spam folder. Thanks to previous posters for pointing me to the Spam folder.
