@Dfw38 that sounds like quite the challenge.
My challenge is to save, to become a saver, and to look after the pennies so they turn into pounds, and chart that. I have a new diary to make a record of saving to be a mortgage-free wannabe.
Spend day.
Grateful for a call with my supervisor who is off sick, she is feeling much better, cocoa, hot water bottle.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000
Stocks and shares ISA: £1497
Additional pension contributions £0
Overpayment on mortgage: £0

Not a bad day in all. Caught with several friends via phone. Sis came over to start planning our Scotland holiday so we can reunite nan and grandad. Struggling to find accommodation near to each other in the vicinity we wanted, so going have cast our net further afield. But after 2 hours we both admitted defeat and will get together again another day. Fingers crossed dd is better by Saturday so we can celebrated dad's birthday otherwise there is a lot of lamb in the hubbsters future.
CHALLENGE /CHASE- Made a major life decision today, signed up for a couple of courses that may help me start up my own business in the near future. Really nervous as it means having to interact with lotsvpeople which I've not really had to do for the past 16 years but I'm ready to take the plunge..... I think. So lost nsd to paying for my first course but its something I'm really passionate ABOUT.
CHARITY-. I've also offered to do some voluntary work for our local transition town group. Hoping I don't get the wobbles like I've done in the past and cancelled everything.
Tea was provided by allotment and tasted of summer. We are trying to eat from freezers at the moment as hoping to switch off one in the new year.
Tomorrow will be a spend day as dd2 is meeting up with her friend for bowling and lunch with a tour round the local garden centre lights. It will be good to see her and her mum as we've not had a meet up for a couple of weeks.
Grateful for dd2 drying the dishes whilst singing along to Christmas songs, really grateful for her finishing the dishes and which meant her warbling stopped too. Grateful for having food on my plate.
CRx

apple_muncher said:ldee, I like you comment on how charting things helps you see the little wins adding up. It works the other way too, doesn't it- the way the spends add up if we don't keep a note of them.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

Plucked a book from DS’s shelves this morning… my first book for fun is The Magic Finger by Roald. I read a few pages whilst taking a break from work.I had my routine MRI scan this afternoon… it doesn’t scare me as much as it used to. This Christmas will hopefully be 5 years C-free.Listed a few items on V!nted when I got home. And started a spreadsheet to track spends @apple_muncher 😉NSD 1.Grateful today for the hardworking NHS staff, for an easy freezer dinner, and for libraries (DS is enjoying listening to his Christmas storybook read by OH , as am I)X

Hi all x
Ive decided to challenge myself to save as much as I can and chart it, think I may struggle with this but I’ll try.Sold some more raffle tickets today for my pensioners (customers) Christmas presents. I’m hoping to be able to give them all a £25 voucher for the local butchers.I’m loaded with the cold and feeling a bit sorry for myself so splashed out on a coffee when I was at work today so never managed a NSD.Grateful to be home in my jammies and in my bed.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged13 -
Today I am grateful for the thick mist -I love how cocooned it makes me feel, for finishing off two Harry Potters ready for tomorrow, for doing a smidge of my mocks marking, for finding some fab fabric in the ch shop, for dc doing all day at school plus art club.

Having failed to really post in Nov I am endeavouring to do better in Dec !
No spends today. Busy day at work then came home, fed people and did some more work. Packed up 2 returns (Inc an iron bought in Feb which has broken - full refund promised from retailer. Now need another one!
Advent calendars have been opened and Xmas mugs, glasses and teatowels brought down from loft to use.
Thankful for ds1 venturing into garage loft, easy dinners (leftovers), catch up tv.I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £2011 -

Had a lovely start to the day with advent calendars and our elf left a chocolate coin in ds lunch box for him to find. He couldn’t wait to tell me after school. Elf also left a Christmas wordsearch with a clue each day.
Trying to get up a bit earlier each morning to get things done without rushing like putting a load of washing on or emptying dishwasher. I want to make this a habit.
Took mince pies into work. Everyone seems a bit flat! Suggested everyone to wear Christmas jumpers tomorrow to try and make it a bit jolly.
I had a good old sing song in the car to my precious Christmas cd by Mr Buble.
My dreams are quite simple. Be debt free and lose weight. I do seem to be Living by Numbers (ooh that’s a good diary title)! It’s all achievable I just need a goal, a plan, and to take the steps!
Next year I will be recording my Tilly tally’s. It will be interesting to see what these add up to in a year.
Not an NSD as bought stamps and mince pies. Then popped into bargains for the home and got a few more bits off my list.
Completed a ugov survey. Not going to get a payout this year but will continue with it.

Happy 01st December 🎄
Kicking off the new month with a new budget. Managed to set aside £400 this month off debt and will aim for £250/month from January. I had a clear out a couple of weeks back, taking 2 big bags to a charity shop - and selling 3 boxes of stuff on Music Magpie/Ziffit/WeBuyBooks - hence the bigger debt repayment. So am feeling very streamlined and minimalist. Really making me think twice before buying things, and I'm aiming to go digital with music and DVDs moving forwards. I can't bring myself to give up books yet!!!
I am aiming to re-boot my good habits this month again but starting off small. Also trying to be more positive-focused.
Today I am grateful for:
1) My little apartment that helps to shelter me from any storm including the emotional ones
2) My little car that works so hard and ferries me around
3) For new opportunities in whatever challenges I face
Today was a spend day. NSD = 0/15
It is lovely to be back - here's to an enjoyable but frugal month. Big hugs everyone x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐
Follow your heart & be true to yourself always
My life is full of abundance and prosperity
