Error in item specifics

Thats what i tried to do but the seller declined the return stating it was as described.
I am not robust enough to argue my case so politely told the seller after second refusal i would ask ebay to decide and wished them well.. ebay wont let me do anything now for 5 days from message.
I wish it wasnt so awkward and uncomfortable to return the item. If i didnt need the money i'd just put it in a charity shop to avoid any stress.0 -
Sellers can only decline a return if it's a change of mind.
If you correctly started a claim for 'Item not as described' then the seller does not even have the option to refuse the return and close the case. They are forced to accept the return.1 -
i wonder if i did something wrong wheni messaged them .. but i am sure i started a return and clicked not as described.. they just told me it was as described and to look at photos.
i guess i wait ..but it seems from you all that its worth asking ebay to step in and make a decision rather than just giving in..
thank you0 -

You can only open one case - the fact you state that you opened it twice and the seller refused twice makes me wonder whether a case was correctly opened in the first instance?
Either way, as a seller myself, when someone opens a 'not as described' case the only options available are to accept a return and cover return postage costs, offer a partial refund (which buyer needs to agree to), or offer a full refund (and buyer keeps item). Thats it. There is no option to decline the return request.2 -
Ifti..i think but am struggling here i opened the case byclicking return requested.. then clicked the wording for not as described..seller replied it was as described.. i replied to them.. they again refused and i said i will wait and ask ebay.
I am so muddled by all this.. ebay shows tis under the item in puchase history
" Status: You requested a return and the seller should respond soon.Return has been initiated. View return details."then when I click return details it states i have to wait for seller to respond.. they did and refused.. so i have tow ait
So much effort for £12 but i really could do with the refund if i can get it.
Ebay used to be so easy.. but i'm just not as robust as i once was0 -
You have to wait for it to be timed out, there will be a date in the dispute console that tells you when you can ask eBay to step in.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ok I get where you are up to now - so you have opened a case via eBay correctly. The seller has refused to accept the return twice in his comments, but the case is not closed - it's still open and ongoing, which is fine.
At this point, as Soolin stated above, wait for the few days until you can escalate the claim to eBay. When you escalate, add some notes simply stating item is made of XYZ fabric, while the item description was incorrect and states XYZ fabric, hence teh item is not as described in the listing.
eBay will then take some time to investigate (sometimes its quite quick).
I don't see why they wouldn't rule in your favour to be fair, and you will be refunded in full (including any postage charges).2 -
Thank you.
Its that proverbial straw on the camels back.. its just my camel has a few bales at the moment .. i am doubting myself, getting in a muddle and worrying .
will try walk away now until i can ask ebay to help.. seller hasnt responded since i said politely that i would ask ebay to decide and thats a good thing0 -
Hello .. just coming back in case anyone reads in future with similar problem.
I opened ebay this morning to find a return postage label waiting for me... i didnt need to do anything so assume ebay stepped in. Its off to the post this morning.3
