  • Still no number

I have done some cashing out from surveys so have £5.16 from branded surveys, £10.95 from curious cat, £3.76 from AttaPoll and £5 from swagbucks.

I am so in awe of the surveying income the rest of you seem to be able to pull in regularly:(

that brings my total to £817.72/£2023

Total Debt May 21 £20,490.44  DEBT FREE DATE 29/7/22

    Mortgage balance May 21 £177,096.19. Now £146,747.17
Mortgage free date. At start of sole mortgage = July 2042

2024 SAVINGS FOCUS - get rid of the car finance. Savings balance/outstanding balance = £11,857.56/£12,706.25
2025 Savings Focus - 33.3/33.3/33.3 split; savings for house renovations (bathrooms/garden/kitchen; whichever collapses first), save for a family holiday (probably our last one!) and paydown/offset the mortgage

Prolific is by far and away the best one for surveys. I don't know if there is a waiting list to join at the moment but i'd highly recommend joining if you don't do them already.

Thank you. I have been on their waiting list since last July so hopefully I might get somewhere with them soon

    Revised totals:
    Loyalty rewards for coffee £20.40
    Retail cashback £43.76
    Loyalty card reward £10.50
    Winnings £25
    Roadkill £0.12
    Total £99.78
    #55

After a dry-spell a bit of a spree of activity.
    • Two wins £22.50 + £22
    • Coffee paid with stamps £1.65
    • Cashback £6.74
This brings my updated totals to:
    • Loyalty rewards for coffee £22.05
    • Retail cashback £50.50
    • Loyalty card reward £10.50
    • Winnings £69.50
    • Roadkill £0.12
    • Total £152.67

I'd also like to check some things whether they count or not.

I sold my car, so can I count the money for that, plus insurance refund and road tax refund?

I also saw others counted water rates and council tax payment holidays, but that is not really "make" but just a cash-flow thing?

Finally, people have counted reduction by shopping around for insurance renewals - again, does that count as "make"?

I'm relatively new but to me anything you 'make' is fine, so if you sold your car I don't see a problem with that, but maybe others will, especially if you got 10 grand for it 🤣

As for reductions, technically that isn't actual money so I never count that, lots of my shopping contain discounts but that feels like bending the rules.

But I suppose on some things its a case of where do you begin and where do you draw the line?

Main thing is that it gets you/us on the road to making extra cash, in some way the actual figures aren't everything.

I agree with the idea that it is more about the mindset of generating extra money.

I would absolutely include selling a car so long as you aren’t using the money to replace it. If you are selling and not replacing then I think the insurance and road tax rebates also have to count.

I wouldn’t count a saving on renewals as, for me, I always would have shopped around.

Each to their own I guess but counting reductions in shoppings might work for some but I would find that doesn’t fit for me. If I buy a reduced yellow label product and count the reduction then I would have to charge myself when the item likely gets binned unused a week later.

I would happily use the £10 off your first shop type vouchers to be honest but I wouldn’t count a buy one get one free.

I do count things like buy 9 coffees and get the 10th free as that free coffee always tastes so much nicer.

I am probably a bit of a contradiction as I did count my government energy help and the council tax holiday 2 months. However, I still ‘charged myself’ for those so the money I didn’t need to pay went out of my current account and in to savings. If I hadn’t still ‘charged myself’ then I wouldn’t have counted them

Plus if I started counting all the bogof or 3 for 2 offers I'd never have time away from keeping count.

Maybe when I reach the threshold with Nectar (don't go in Sainsburys often) I may add that but thats only going to be £2.50.

I've probably got maybe 12-15 separate little earners, can't be doing with any more tbh, my head is already frazzled haha.
