Thanks all. My cleaner is ace and has a waiting list.
Good point on ISAs
Had physio today. She wants to stay in touch so may meet as friends even though last session was today. That makes me feel good and was a lovely surprise.
I have to do a long trip for DD on Sunday but have arranged to go to see a paid art exhibition B#*k£y afterwards. Excited and slightly nervous but should do me good.
Bought more food today but will freeze some. Get paid the end of next week. Going to top up on fuel.
Boiler being serviced Tuesday.
The gas smart meter people cancelled this morning so rearranged for a few weeks time. Need to check if that means I get compensated. £40 I think. Will email or ring Monday. Sh311.
I also put in a claim for £155 cashback for dental. May get that next week.
I have been reading a lot on KU this week which has been nice too.
Hope things are good with you all.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Card sorted now. Spent more than planned yesterday but devoted last night and today to craft projects. I painted bird houses, made an owl and sewed new bells on a snowman ⛄after first giving him a wash!
Hope you are having fun where you are.
Also did 3 lots of washing
Loving your goals as well. I have only managed to get to the gym once this week but will go both weekend days,DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Just wondering how yesterday went @savingholmes and to admit to craft envy...I'm bad at this stuff and so admire your talent. Love Humdinger xx3

The trip went really well - will post some photos later. I found a tiny cafe and got chicken curry, chips and rice and a drink for less than £8 so pleased with that too. Been awake early today - tossing and turning in the night. Not helped by the noise of the rain and it getting colder.
I had a weird dream that I was made redundant with very little notice and without them following due process - which was disturbing but not surprising with the impact of what Dish# etc are doing to services by not providing more inflation support... Think millions of £s of cuts everywhere you can think of. I had to go through that reminder process that I would be fine for at least a year, maybe longer with the payout I'd get. I'd be hugely better off if it was after pensionable age though so really need to keep my job until after then... Thankfully, I should be fine but I feel for the poor souls with short service that aren't. Debating whether to join a union.
I've been really tired all week - but it's not been helped by reading a new author that I'm absolutely devouring. Not enough hours in the day for reading! So happy that I'm due to have peace this week until Friday. DS starts his new job today. He's on antibiotics - so hope it goes okay.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Deffo join a union @savingholmes as to leave it till the crunch comes isn't the best way imo. Nightmares eh?! I think it's unlikely to happen but best to ve prepared. At least you have a union you can join. Love Humdinger xx6

Good news my dental claim of £155 is being paid this week. Just want Sh311 to compensate me then I have pretty much what I need to help a wider family member out with a second hand laptop. Someone is at risk of redundancy but only has a work laptop... I was going to reduce my savings but with that £ I should be able to help.
Some photos from yesterday
I loved his anti war ones and his climate stuff but also contrasts

I think the £30 compensation is payable if they just don't turn up - not sure what happens if the appointment is formally cancelled, but I suspect it may not be then as otherwise there would be no incentive for them to let people know. I’ve been considering joining the union as well. Partly as there are huge changes happening but also because they need all the support they can get in the current political climate.Great photos as ever 😊"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
