I find that when I walk if I look at the ground and can see my feet it feels like I'm walking more smoothly3

We live in an area where nothing is usually on the market more than a couple of weeks if priced correctly. I think it's interest rates making people feel cautious, it definitely is us. If anything, we're considering downsizing a bit to shrink our hefty mortgage.
With the way mortgage rates are going it's a good time to be buying rather than selling. If you are downsizing in theory you'd be better off selling in a seller's market. However, there's no point having an unaffordable home...ohdearhowdidthathappen said:
Sorry that work is stressful at the mo, have you got any annual leave coming up to recoup a bit, maybe escape somewhere for a bit
This week at work has been a lot better - a decision maker is back - and a supplier has fallen back in line with expectations where they were escalating things last week. I slept better last night which also helped.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

However, I could exercise more than I do and it would improve my general health.
I need to return about £56 of clothes still, forgot to do it last night as DD and her friends stayed longer than expected.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Fingers crossed that the meds help you out SH. I know starting them will feel quite daunting. I'd second the recommendation for walking poles, although I'm the opposite and need to look down to check where I put my feet.

Thanks DIA, WD, FF and Beanie
I may look into Nordic walking... and poles... I've always been worried I'd stab myself with them or trip over them - but I've just seen they can come with little paws which could be an option for me. Will see if can find any cheap to try.
WD - my sis introduced me to the term proprioception - but yes I struggle to know where I am in space and that then feeds into my balance. Physical signals to my brain can seem delayed or too harsh or too light depending on the situation. I misjudge force etc - so can hit or squeeze something too hard etc. Walk diagonally in front of people etc... struggle to stay 'in lane' when walking etc...
Work is a lot better this week - it shows the difference certain people make when they are off and the other people linked to them were allowed off too!! [Roll eyes].
Beanie - you'd definitely want my cleaner today. She didn't have much to do in the house this week so she tidied and cleared out the shed. It's utterly transformed and looks huge!!
Then the handyman arrived about 3.30pm and has re-felted my shed with felt he brought (for free from a house clearance). He went home and swapped his van so he had his ladders and has cleared out my gutter where it had silted up and replaced a bracket that had snapped. It looks fab now. He's also brought some (free) wood with him so he can fit the remaining rotten part of the shed boards - (3 boards at the bottom left). He's doing that now. Shows what a difference getting a {cheap} willing helper makes. Not sure what it will cost - but I have at least £65 in the house so should be fine. I then need to paint the boards he replaced purple - I may need more paint but small price to pay for extending the life of the shed a few more years.
DS has confirmed that he will come to a family gathering on Saturday so I'm chuffed about that as I desperately want to see him. I saw him for a few hours early July but other than that hadn't spent any real time with him since Mother's Day weekend and before that Xmas. He's going through a bit of a quiet phase too so it will be nice to catch up face to face. DD's BF is also going to be introduced to wider family which will be an experience for him. One of my niece's has been living mostly abroad for years so I'll also see her which will be good.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Beanie.
Cost me £50. He just fitted a new gate latch for me too - and where the metal was a bit too long he's taking it away to file down at home bless him. Meanwhile he used the metal insert from the previous latch. He's also due to bring me back a new shed key - he's filing one down for me as two of mine have gone missing and I now only have 1 left. He's fab.
He's just mowing next door's lawn which makes it look better for me selling too so all good (charged to her). Next time he comes he's going to do some weeding and get rid of some bamboo that's trying to come back and some tree suckers that are attempting to regrow.
About to have a nice roast dinner - with the help of some heated up frozen roasties.
