Got through another work day - it was a little calmer today compared with last week and there's a couple of key decision makers back in which should help a lot.
My ADHD meds are due to start imminently which feels a bit scary - but hopefully will be a good thing. Only one way to find out. Apparently they will be couriered to my home... They advise exercise of an hour a day while on the meds which could be tricky... Need to consider what's realistic taking account of my other health issues. I'm hoping the meds help me lose weight - watch this space.
My previous gas supplier has generated a bill based on their own fictitious reading that is higher than my actual (despite there being a smart meter). Given it was for less that £15 and my calculations on my refund are about right I'll leave them to get on with it unless BG try to charge me for the 8 units I was over charged by the previous supplier. I should therefore get the refund within 6 weeks from today.
I have had confirmation a small DB pension I have gets paid unreduced from age 60 and that there's no benefit in deferring it even if I wanted to. If I wanted it paid early - the earliest I could take it is 5 years early which equates to a 15% reduction. It's not a big enough amount of money to really want to do that. I am still awaiting a CETV but I'm expecting it to be much lower than last time - and I couldn't act on it yet anyway based on my experiences last time I asked. I need to go and play with my spreadsheets and see what that all means.

Fingers crossed for the ADHD meds, hopefully that's averaged out so e.g. your swimming days count as more than one "day" of exercise? And don't forget that walking/housework/gardening/clearing counts as gentle exercise as well.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Thanks Merlin, WD and Beanie
They will courier my meds to me - but not today - as I have to go into work. Thanks for the suggestions on breaking down the exercise to a less scary number. I am really concerned about the meds - in case it impacts my driving while I get used to them - so my original plan had been not to drive for a couple of weeks but typically I have a family event I have to go to this week so that may not be an option. I could potentially give DD's BF fuel money and get him to drive us but I don't travel well in the rear of a car.
My mortgage went out so another £661 off the capital. I also received nearly £20 in interest so that's lovely too.
I went and bought some food yesterday and some clothes also snook in - but I'm returning 3 of the 4 things I bought however I then ordered some Roman stuff instead so will see what that looks like on / fits like. I have a family gathering this weekend and that is always difficult for me so it would help if I at least liked what I was wearing. Its free returns. I kept a black and cream v neck top - and dug out some trousers I never normally wear but that currently fit and they looked nice together. I may wear that to work today as I can always wash it before Saturday if I decide I want to stick with that combo. It's bizarre - shops often have tops or dresses for + size but rarely have any trousers, leggings, skirts etc which makes zero sense.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Is your fire still not working? the company who fitted mine 5 yrs ago wanted to do an annual service. I said the service was equivalent a costly surcharge and impractical, when the fire is likely used for less than 3 months a year. Anyhow, the ignition for mine is below the fire (set in wall type), all is needed is cover removal, a hoover of the dust, and a battery change.
Will the ADHD meds give you energy to exercise? you may find its easy to go for a walk if they do.Mortgage restart June 2018 £119950Re mortgage August 19 £110470, … Mortgage November 22 £85600 final 0% CC 3300Home renovations - £65000, mid 2018 - mid 20223 -
Hi MFD - the meds may help - but I am currently quite a slow walker and sometimes trip and fall etc and am often looking for benches to rest on. Will see what happens.
DD wants to borrow my CC to book her holiday which is making today more complicated as she's coming over with her BF and the friend she's due to go with. She (and I) want to make doubly certain we're booking the right holiday, it's not a scam etc. She's nipped to Mr A and is supposedly bringing back pizzas - but is about half an hour overdue at this point and I'm getting hungry. I'd originally planned a roast dinner until she started adding to the invite list as I cooked some chicken casserole last night.
I was 10 minutes late to work this morning but was forgiven. I escaped slightly earlier than usual for me but I'm still in credit. I have tentatively booked Friday pm off using flexi as I have a busy weekend and want some relaxation time first. I may see if I can then fit in another swim if the weather is due to be kind. However it depends what the new meds are doing at that point - they could make me more hyper or send me to sleep!! When a relative went on them they found it really messed up their days and initially they had to sleep at random times etc. The meds have been dispatched today I think but don't know if that means I will get them tomorrow or not.
Ideally I need to take back the clothes I bought yesterday - this evening. I wore the black and cream top today and it was really comfortable and soft so happy with that - and it was just £7.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Beanie. I ended up giving her friend career advice and suggesting some roles to apply for and offering to help with the application. It was a nice enough time. Luckily I gave DD the card to input the details and she sent me the money straight back which was a relief. She just wanted the extra protection of paying on a CC - very sensible.
I saw someone do a drive by earlier - so not sure if they will ask to view or not. Nothing has come through yet.
My cleaner comes tomorrow but because I had people over tonight - I had to tidy and do the dishwasher etc before they came so she probably doesn't have too much to do. I may get her to tidy the shed and see if she wants to do some gardening. The lawn could do with mowing again. I'm tempted to also mow next door as their lawn looks terrible. It would probably need recharging before it could do next door's though.
If I don't get any viewers for tomorrow - I may see if I can use my gym membership and do some exercise... or perhaps go to the park.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Tricky time for moving... we had our place valued and we're keeping an eye out to see what's about and nothing is selling. We live in an area where nothing is usually on the market more than a couple of weeks if priced correctly. I think it's interest rates making people feel cautious, it definitely is us. If anything, we're considering downsizing a bit to shrink our hefty mortgage.
Sounds like the feedback you're getting is positive though which is lovely
Sorry that work is stressful at the mo, have you got any annual leave coming up to recoup a bit, maybe escape somewhere for a bitDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
