My handyman did come and do a bit on the shed - he replaced 3 boards - but needs 3 more so will come back Friday am. I gave him £20 - not bad for him as he was here just over an hour. He was going to do the roof felt - but it turns out the spare felt I have is slightly too short (and I gave him my other roll 3 weeks ago). He says he has some spare felt that's better quality from a house clearance that he'll bring me over. He'll also put a planter together for me. I'm paying him with cash I'd expected to pay last week so that's okay.
It's been great that I've had that help today - although I now need to repaint part of the shed. Two people from yesterday spotted I was upset yesterday -although one didn't clock why and I didn't tell them and the other had been told by me in confidence originally. They were really nice to me which restored my faith in human nature a bit. The person apologised again today. There's not really anything more they can do so I have to find a way to let it go and move on.
I finished work early and had a nap on the sofa and he woke me with a start. I think I'll eat out tonight as I'm feeling fragile still although much better than yesterday.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sorry to hear that something private to you was shared publicly, I've had a similar situation in an away day and can remember how awful it felt. I'm pleased you've had an apology, hope you can find a way to let it go for your own wellbeing.
Well done on dressing a room for £150, that's fantastic. It sounds like the work you've done recently in decluttering & dressing your home ready for putting on the market means you've already given yourself a new home! X4 -

Thanks Beanie and Dancing.
Sorry you've had bad experiences too Dancing. You are right it already feels like a new home...
I ran into DD and her BF while out. Showed them the photos and they were really impressed. I also got a hug which was nice. I didn't tell her about the incident as didn't want to upset her.
I went to return the mirrors and found I had been undercharged so no refund. However I was told I could get a refund on something I bought yesterday that has broken already. So swings and roundabouts. I picked up a replacement as it was low stock at third store I went to. I will go back another day with the broken item.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Your colour choices and design ideas for dressing bedroom 4 sound great. I'm not very bold with colours but I love the effect of bright and vibrant spaces.
sorry about what happened at the away day. Some people can be very thoughtless with other people's private information. I hope you find a way to deal with how it has made you feel. Someone at my work has taken it upon themselves to make comments about me feeling over emotional about retiring. Actually the emotions I'm feeling are excited and happy but this colleague has made an error and is trying to deflect by saying things about me. Why do people behave as inappropriately as your colleague and my colleague?5 -
That is absolutely shocking that someone gave away personal information about you. I hope they are genuinely sorry about it.
There's someone in my office who regularly says inappropriate things too. It can make an unpleasant working environment."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -

Ugh to the personal information thing - I hope the powers that be at your workplace have a procedure in place for dealing with it as an apology is all well and good but they need to be left in no doubt whatsoever that it is completely inappropriate behaviour too!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
