Underwear does not come with a 'hygiene seal'  - all the OP did was open the box they came i to inspect them. Thus the 14 day distance selling regulations apply and the OP can return them.

But how do you know that anyone receiving them when opened did not try them on? Therefore, nonreturnable?

Someone trying them on or not doesn’t have anything to do with whether or not the consumer can cancel the contract :)

    Hi All

I bought a 12 pack of boxers from crosshatch for £26 but they have no opening at the front and the large size seems a bit small for a large more like a medium.

Without getting technical about underwear I've never come across boxers that have no opening at the front and most websites don't state that they do as its normal.  Crosshatch website didn't state it did.

Anyway now I have £26 worth of boxers that are no good to me.  Crosshatch have simply said no returns on underwear.

Anyone know what my legal rights are?

    Thanks in Advance
The photo of what you bought seems to clearly show there is no opening.

Re sizing - did you check the size guide?
And compare it to other brands?

I thought trunks had an opening but hipsters don't.
Both hipsters and trunks fit relatively snuggly.
    Boxers are looser.

Hipsters have beards - dunno what their underwear is like...  https://pantsandsocks.com/blogs/post/hipsters-vs-trunks suggests both usually don't have flies.
I need to think of something new here...

Regardless of what your link says, the Crosshatch website shows boxer shorts with 'flies' and boxer shorts without 'flies'.
Looking at the style, these are what M&S call 'hipsters' and 'trunks'.
Almost all (apart from some designed for workouts) trunks have 'flies'.
    Hipsters don't have 'flies'.
    Exactly as I said.

M&S boxers seem to be looser fitting - as I said.

The OP should have viewed the item he was buying on the website he was buying from.
Not assumed based on what 'most websites say'.

And the retailer is entitled to make a reduction in certain circumstances, potentially upto 100%.

I was reading this thread and thought, really.
Mrs Diy has bought lose underwear from shops and advised at the till it can't be returned and we just accept that
and understand why. (not sealed garments)
    So I decided to investigate.
Though the link is from 2016, I still think it is valid.
From the guardian, I've always found them to be right.
