Ouch! The bubble really has burst in that area hasn't it?
How can you look at 1 house and decide that the bubble has burst? I've no idea about this particular place but there's been plenty of places we've been going to see that were being snapped up straight away at asking price. Not that I think prices will increase for a while either, but I don't really understand your logic....0 -
Thanks Johnny for posting that site, really interesting!!"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0

Thankyou for any advice i will do what i feel is best
I think perhaps you received lots of info that you didnt know you needed, or perhaps people thought you had not considered.
Things are not looking very rosie for our economy generally, Im sure you will have noticed symptoms of this yourself in your household bills. Good luck!0 -

It took me 12 months to sell my place in Northamptonshire.
Speculated at £400K - Not much interest - 12 months ago
Dropped it to sell at £380K, still speculating - No interest - 9 months ago
Dropped it to reasonable level £360K - Lots of interest - 6 months ago.
Sold it for £340K bit the buyers hand off. - 3 Months ago.
So it sold for 15% less the the original speculative price.
I was realistic about its value and this happened just before the credit crunch.
Just remember if you're on the ladder if the prices are going up then it's costing you more to trade up, if the prices are going down it costs you less to trade up.
Lower house prices ( and a house price crash ) is actually good for society. We've been doomed for the last 10 years, now we're being set free....
Good luck selling. Its tough out there.0 -

What a joke this board has become.
I can only see the OP asking for what offers have been made on other propertiesIt would have made interesting reading for anyone interested in the market but it's turned into a ridiculous slating of the OP and of course, another HPC thread.
Is there anybody here interested in answering the questions actually asked?
OP, carry on, you've done nothing wrong. Anyone is entitled to be put out by a low offer and if you don't need to move, well, sod 'emEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

You're welcome. Just remember that in a falling market, the difference between your house and the house you wish to buy will become smaller.
Say for instance your £140k sells for £115k and then one you want to move to was (for arguments sake) £200k. If this drops to say £160k the amount to change is now 45k rather than 60k.
You just saved £15k! Factor in interest over the life of a mortage, wow you just saved £30k + congrats! :-)
See its not all bad news is it?0 -
