What ridicules answers to what was a very simple question from the OP.
These DooM Mongers are ruining this forum.
I have just accepted 6% below the asking price, I may have got slightly more if I had waited but I'm also purchasing another property chain free. So if my current property was sitting empty for a couple of months I would be back to square one so decided to accept.
When I originally posted the usual Doom Mongers were suggesting drop by 10%-15% now rather then chase the market down.
my advice is that research what sold in the summer for an equal house and expect to get slightly less because of the time of year and current market sentiment.
If you decide to hold out for a while then you may get closer to the asking price during the spring....
Also depends on which area and part of the country of course.0 -

Our house is up for sale at the moment. We put it up in september. Was valued 3 times at 120k we wanted a quick sale as it is vacant, so put it up for 112,950 expecting a near asking price offer. No such luck! we had an offer of 95K which we refused then 97,500 which we also refused not long ago, we are now worried about the fragile state of the market and are considering accepting the offer.0

The conclusions that I draw are that the price stagnation has already happened where I live and it's downhill from now on. I am going into a rented place for a while and feel that I may well have sold at the peak.

As for me, I'm feeling pretty smug. Particularly about that last line;)
