How could I protect my purchase?

  • Their business card has the following
    SFC 2012 Ltd

    www.sofa-home.co.uk
  • PayPal often breaks the link as far as protection is concerned. The transaction is to pay PayPal a set amount, so that's what would be protected. Whatever PayPal do with your money isn't the concern of the CC company.

Wonder what their bad experience was.
Will PayPal give me protection if I don't get the Sofa I ordered from Sofa-Home ?
    Any idea

No, I don't believe they would.
Why not? If the OP were to open an item not received dispute why do you think they'd lose?
  • If you pay using PayPal you don’t get the Section 75 protection.

T/C are interesting. As is only listing a mobile contact number.

Pay Pal protection. Well they do offer 180 days to dispute. But not sure if that would be extended if delivery was longer. But make sure they send invoice to pay & not ask you to use friends & family, which has NO protection.

Interesting no reviews to be found.

As you owe nearly £30k in tuition fees, then why not get a second hand sofa and then pay £2000 off your loan???

If the sofa shop won't accept cards then I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!

I'd perhaps go with a different local store. https://coastroadfurniture.co.uk/collections perhaps?? (I have no idea who this company are, they just look a little more reliable and have excellent reviews on Facebook!)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    This, this and this again

According to your previous you're new in a job and we're entering/in recession yet you've £2k+ to blow on a 2nd hand/ex-display sofa from a dodgy outlet with only a mobile number

Aren't we digressing from the topic...

On another note would it be better to pay off tuition fees in total if I have cash savings? What do you think?
  • Hello pinkshoes

The following was mentioned in my other post that you are interested in:

"Arguably, since the student loan repayments are based on income (and not the underlying amount owed or the interest rate), the money can be better used for things like house deposit savings and any other expenditure in that stage of your life."

    What do you think?
