Santander esaver 2.75%

On 16th October we applied to Santander for their 2.75% easy access savings account and immediately sent our ID documentation. Hear we are over a month later and they have still not opened the account despite receiving a couple of apologies for the delay emails. What’s going on with Santander? I would have thought it would have been quicker not slower over the internet. We have had the money in Lloyds (0.85%) ready to go so we have been losing interest daily waiting for the account to be opened. Is there anything I can do?

You are not alone.
Many similar stories in this existing thread - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6394152/santander-2-75-account1 -
They were overwhelmed. I applied on the 11/10/22, got a reference then nothing spoke to them 1 hour on hold on 17th and opened the account on the phone instantly. Then they opened a 2nd on the 24th, presumably from the first application. I’m an existing customer.
Ring them complain and you may get some compensation.I don’t need 2 so you can put your money in the 2nd one.1 -

One final point, I noticed some comments were of Aldermore Bank offering 3% Easy access. Looking at their website they have withdrawn this product but can anyone recommend a current high rate offering from a high street or reputable provider?0
