As feedback I got the 5p a month going to £4.75 deal and the setup worked and all was fine for 2 months.
Month 3 for context, my debit card was damaged and I got a new one from the bank.
I get a message to from lyca they couldn't take payment so please contact customer services, so new card in hand I phone up expecting to just update details and continue.... nope.
They said the deal was attached to my old card and can't be added to my new card and continued to give me some discounted 'offers' all of which were worse value.
I find this hard to believe as all cards expire at some point meaning no customer can keep a deal long term.
Ordered new sim from Lebara so will be moved soon, not quite as good a deal, but on the bright side I have had 2 months usage for 10p with lyca.

I can understand a little if your debit card had been cancelled and they were unable to take payment. as I guess that means your plan lapsed. If you had updated your card details before they tried to take payment I expect it would have renewed fine.

kat19521952 said:I have received SIM now but again telling me to sign up to plan, minimum £5 a month for 20GB data, which I don't need, and having read other peoples comments and the tortuous instructions for getting PAC code, keeping number etc etc, I have decided that life is too short, will stay where I am and go and decorate my Christmas tree instead!
I have only paid 5p and presume as not using SIM card they will not ask me for another payment?
Thanks everyone
EDIT: You'll either have to contact them, or disable the "auto-renew" option from the app or website in your account profile, where you would see your usage etc. Auto-renew will be on by default, but it might be possible to get any charges returned to you if you contact them and say you stopped using the sim and you're not happy to pay for a service you don't and have not used.

I'm so glad I have had the foresight to check the forum.
I have been wanting an e-sim just to use for when companies or mailing lists want my number so I can keep my usual number just for friends and family. They were the cheapest but it wasn't clear and I couldn't find where the pay as you go e-sim was even though they state they do them on their website. I tried the 'chat' which is just a bot. I tried twice emailing and no reply. I've also tried phoning and was on for ages with no real person and no number option that was relevant. I think I will pass on this company!0
