Opted in 😁 So it’s charging the car tomorrow morning, heating the house with electric heaters, dehumidifier on, and cooking something nice in the oven (and maybe hovering too) 🤗Gas: warm air central heating, instant water heater, Octopus tracker
Electricity: 3kw south facing solar array, EV, Octopus intelligent1 -

On a serious note, I've opted in as well, although I don't expect to save much this time.1 -
I bet the "hovering" uses a lot of electricity!!!

Hadn't considered they'd do one in a morning. Ugh.0

It's going to be difficult to cut down on my usual 0.04 kWh used during that window, so in-day adjustment will have to do the heavy lifting.

Grrrr, I'd done the washing today as it was sunny. I'll find somat to use up leccy from 5am, even if it's oven on with door open to heat the house.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

What's different with a morning Saving Session? If you're out of the house at the time, it's an easy one for you! Just opt in, switch off and head out. Try switching off any non-essential electronics at the wall before you leave to avoid the small amounts of power used on standby.
If you're home, make a perfectly timed cuppa and enjoy a bit of electronic-free quiet time, or head out for a sunny Winter walk. Let us know what you get up to on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #SavingSessions.
Super Saver Bonus challenge: Did you opt in to the last Session? Continue your streak by opting in to the next and you'll automatically get...- 100 extra OctoPoints (worth 12.5p)
- 8 entries in the draw to win the 400,000 OctoPoint spot prize
Cut down your electricity use between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM on 19th January. You'll earn 1800 OctoPoints per kilowatt hour for all of the electricity you save compared to what you normally use. Here are a few tips and tricks to get the most out of your Sessions.
Most importantly, make sure you stay warm, safe and comfortable during your Saving Session. Don't turn anything essential off.
Saving Sessions only measures electricity, so if you've got gas heating you don't have to change anything. If you use electric heating and decide you want to turn it off, make sure you've warmed the house up earlier in the day and you're doing what you can to keep that heat in.

I guess it's an early start then. Washing on at 6 and I've got some ironing I can do then too. Oh my, this feels very silly!1

Not with Octopus but am included on an energy saving session so I presume this DFS calculation works the same no matter what supplier?
So as an example tomorrow at 9-10am our last 10 weekdays 9-10am average is 2.24kwh
If we move our hot water heating (ASHP)/dishwasher/washing machine/tumble dryer load and the garage gym heaters on for two seperate workouts from to 5-8am we will use approx 9kwh over that 3 hour period.
Does that mean our baseline is 2.24kwh + 3kwh/2 = 2.62kwh?
Very first time we have had an invite so any help on this appreciated.0
