I built a calculator that uses my local cache of the DCC data that I'm storing to do pretty graphs anyway to do the live calculation for the saving rate.

It will only be fully accurate after the last DCC data is pulled in up to 4pm today which should be by around 4:30pm, but it gives you an idea of how much you can save if you really hammer the in-day adjustment:

    (Forgive the ugliness)

I think £2.25 if limit for trial and £4  is potential for real event, but only speculation...

Someone mentioned an app is offering minimum £3 kWh same as B.G

That's a great set of data for us to really dig into what's going on, thanks @razord for building and sharing it!

It may well be wrong - but it seems to roughly add up to what I've received on the first 2 sessions.

Typically, the Bright DCC data hasn't updated since 2pm, so I don't have any more accurate data yet! It'll come in at some point though.

Edit: DCC got the full data at 5pm, so here's my calculation for today:

Can the calculator be made public or is it hard coded for your info right now?

I'll adapt it to use the Octopus API and make it public this weekend. It won't be able to show the live in day adjustment for that data, as that data isn't available "live" through their API, but it can give you a rough idea I guess - and some boxes to enter what your adjustment is gunna be so folks can play with what happens if they increase usage in the IDA period.
  • I signed up and was contacted in advance of each session to opt in and then I got a reminder shortly before the session started.
I've also had an update to say what i have saved.
You do have to log into your account to opt in to each session.
I think it's working well so far.
i don't have high usage but any money saved is a good thing.
  • Has anybody managed to use the published algorithm to predict accurately what they should get? I have written a script that I believe should work, but it is about 20% off (in different directions) for the first two sessions. So either my script is wrong or Octopus is not using the published formula.
