Yes!! Mines been down for the past 4 days now! It keeps cutting out! This is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying! I've tried everything, resetting the modem, router, pc etc. :(

How long does it take to fix for god sake, we can't be the only ones with problems!

    Hi all

Got mine working in the end here is what I had to do

(I am have a wireless router as well but have listed as not having one for ease of trying to explain)

into control panel/network connections/right click on LAN /properties/ scroll to internet protocol (TCP/IP) / properties make sure it is set to automatically assign ip address and automatically assign DNS server address

    Then:

    Turned pc off
    Turned modem off

    unplugged ethernet cable from pc
    unplugged ethernet cable from modem

Pluged end of cable that was in pc into modem
Plugged end of cable that was in modem into pc

    rebooted modem
    rebooted pc

    and back online

then powered off put ethernet cable that is now in modem back into pc (this might not matter to you, but did to me as cables are all tied up with cable ties and one end longer than other and as such my modem was now dangling in mid-air :-) )

    Hope that helps

Now off to search the internet tofind a better service provider Jesssh Virgin wanted to make me spit feathers..

sorry worked for me... then what I suggest is going through their rubbish phone system.. phoning cust serv asking for refund of your b/b for last almost 3 1/2 days...

get them to note you are calling their rubbish tech line.... and you will want a credit..

then phone the 0906 number and let him/her talk you through, when your done and connected ( I hope fingers toes and ears crossed (and the ears thing was hard) you will be connected and then remind him/her that your problem started on Mon eve when they made a bo bo..... and you want your call charges back... they will refund you...

catz1ct if you are with virginmedia and are thinking about switching elsewhere, call them and mention it to them. Point out which similar deals you can get elsewhere cheaper and they will offer you a reasonable discount which makes it a bit more value for money. I'm sorry if you know about this as it has been discussed extensively on mse but I tried it a couple of years ago and got my broadband knocked down to a tenner per month. Apart from the nationwide outage we suffered last week my broadband has been pretty stable so for now I am sticking with them.
