says exactly what the text sender meant.
There are plenty of opticians in the area though, and there's a Specsavers in both Pontypool and Newport which are just a stones throw away.
In London there are place I would not visit during the day time, but what you have posted, I've never encountered anything like that.. Us Welsh are renowned for exaggerating a little Us Welsh are renowned for exaggerating a little

Many thanks. I asked because at times the media/press do report some not-so-nice events from Wales and thought I may have missed out how bad it really was.cymruchris said:

They're a rough lot down in South Wales. Have you seen the bouncers?

Now you're being silly. Of course women can but I thought only the husband or wife could be involved in divorce proceedings.tizerbelle said:

As I understand it OP is being divorced by Mrs OP (the MIL). Mrs OP has an adult child (son or daughter) who is married to a man (SIL) who works at the opticians.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

The OP is married to the optician's Mother-in-law.
The optician's mother-in-law has initiated divorce proceedings against the OP i.e. her husband.

No Sherlock Holmes work required. The OP explained the relationship involved in their first post. "My crime to warrant this expulsion. His mother in law has started divorce proceedings against me."

Not clear if this was an NHS test or not. or how many optometrists work at the practice.
On the face of it I would have offered an appointment with a colleague rather than ban from the practice if no other issues.
If it was under the NHS then it is more of a pain because you have to formally record all patients you have refused care and the reasons.
I don't think its a GOC matter as it would seem reasonable for both parties in this case for them not to underake the examination.
