We have two accounts one for me and one for OH, so that helps. Had two lots of 2000 points for signing up to a bingo site, couple of 1000 for travel insurance applications on both, boots orders done through there on behalf of my mum for xmas pressies etc , stuff from cd wow and amazon at xmas for mum and us, plus all the clicks and easy sign up clicks - soon add up.
You get 4 points per £1 for boots orders which used to be marginally better than quidco. I ordered all my toiletries for the year from boots, got loads of bogofs,3 for 2's, and extra boots points on stuff, free postage then piggy points on top. That was worth it as I don't need any toiletries in shopping for rest of year now, mum was so impressed with what I got she ordered in bulk too - more piggy points for me:D
You don't have to buy stuff as you know but if it's stuff you are buying anyway I always check pb and quidco first to see if they do it and who has the best deal.0 -

To make up for it a bit I am going to have a frugaltastic veggie roadkill for dinner tonight though (with jerusalem artichokes)
NYK - crikey no, I'm not getting married (shudders at the thought of the expense - i rekon you couldnt bring in a wedding for less than £100 + license type fees, no?) sooooo aiming for that when the time comes though - I have some friends whose parents remortgaged their house to pay for a lavish wedding including a £1000 dress - just the thought of that makes me break out in a sweat!
my 'proposal' was an attempt to get my mitts on the leap-year £100 and gloves that you are supposed to get if they reject your proposal
Jerusalem artichokes make lovely chips, if you grow them in your veggie patch they soon colonise and come every year:D
(the artichokes that is not the chips lol )

Today was my second NSD of the month :j and yesterday I only spent £1.84 so I'm feeling good. I couldn't really do the March march as two of my DDs go out on the 1st and I had various things to buy, but I am still encouraged by the month so far.
I had the best anniversary present for mine and DH's first wedding anniversary yesterday - he has given up smoking! I am so happy even though he is being incredibly grumpy. We worked out that he spends about £2000 a year on tobacco and Pepsi Max  so this is going to have a big impact on the amount of spare cash we have.
It's really good to see that everyone has perked up after February! The posts are much more optimisticIt is also good to see that new people are wanting to join and to hear from lurkers/supporters.
Happy Tuesday everyone:beer:

Mollymop Because I was volunteering near work, rather than near home, I didn't know any of the children or their parents. I can understand what you mean about parents interrogating you about their kids' performance.
I'm sure you would make a great teaching assistant! But those jobs are very popular because of the convenient working hours for parents and it's definitely worth having anything extra you can manage on your application form to make you stand out ... so volunteering is great.
nykmedia Wow at £185 from greasypalm! I will be getting over £100 from Quidco this month but that's mainly due to my wife's car insurance - £215 premium and £115 cashback.
Don't you think that most people with a mortgage are trying pretty hard to pay it off? Or at least, most of those on MSE!
Jumble Bee Our wedding didn't cost an awful lot more than the amount you are talking about. There was certainly change out of £500. And that's not just because it was 17 years ago either! A lot of unnecessary expense is incurred by people ... IMHO if people want to get married, they should simply do it and not use nonsense excuses like "I need to save up £25,000 to pay for it, so I'll put it off for ever".0 -

If I had known about this £100 lark I could have earned a fortune! I know loads of people who would have said no to a marriage proposal! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I ended up making fish & chips for tea tonight, plus a loaf of garlic bread. It's like an exploration venturing into the freezer after the weekend's expedition to Mr T, so I just lifted the first thing I could see... breaded fish fillets and chunky spiced potato wedges.
I had another dilemma. Having moved into another house (again  ) this one has a largish garden and lawn area. Landlord, however, has been and collected all his garden equipment and lawnmower so, come Spring, no way of mowing the grass. Well, it is amazing how quickly you can find a lawnmower just by making a few phone calls! Mum's got me a freebie already! :j
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Lollopy! What a great pressie! :T Make sure your OH sticks to his promise and consider opening a separate savings account for the money. I started off with what I called my 'ciggie piggy' and then I opened a new savings account (mainly to get points or cashback somewhere :rotfl: ) exclusively for transferring the £1.28 per day savings - it's much easier when you can physically see the difference and watch the balance grow. (Or reduce, if it's helping clear a debt.)
Marky - Cashback was mainly through 2 insurance policies and a CC application, plus the Jackpoyjoy offer when it was available. I can't see it being this amount again for a while
I agree, most people on here who have tackled their debts do seem to move on to their mortgages (if they have one) and I think it's great! I would far prefer to be getting rid of a mortgage than wondering when I was going to have to move house again, that's for sure, but that isn't an option. The days of having it drummed into our heads to 'KEEP THE MORTGAGE' and make the most of MIRAS seem so long ago! I can't even remember WHY it was beneficial to have a mortgage! Old age setting in already!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Well done on the freebie lawnmower:T
Had my brother here for tea tonight, he and OH like spicy stuff so I cleared the last of the xmas potato wedges, filo prawns and other spicy buffet type food and they both ate them for tea with a bit of home made chilli. Cleared a space in my freezer now for some proper food. :rolleyes:0 -
Happy wedding anniversary Lollopy, that is a great present indeed! Hope the grumpiness wears off soon, maybe leave hints of what you can get with the money around, like holiday brochures
Nyk, I guess this challenge is the start of my long-term plan to be mortgage-free - initially I'll probably do some home improvements, perhaps buy a car if I can't manage without one once OH starts his business (if I wasn't ill, I wouldn't replace it but needs must). My goal is to be mortgage-free by the time my kids are 10 (unborn as yet!) and then I can start putting some aside for university! Of course my travelling addiction will also need to be met :rotfl:OH mentioned Senegal for the summer...
Hmm, no idea if this is realistic, so many things up in the air but hey, dreams are the only way!The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Thanks NYK and Bails - I too hope the grumpiness disappears! His workmates made him eat lunch in the car on his own yesterday as he was in such a mood and he is even worse today and has barely spoken to me! I have been very worried about his health so I am putting up with it. I think in a week or so I will ask him to start putting his saved money in a savings account.
Nyk - You could just get a goat to cut the grass?Free milk and lawnmower rolled into one! Of course you could get an angora goat and then get wool as well

Once upon a time, in a far off previous life, I used to have 2 goats, amongst other things.
Unfortunately, my current lease now says no pets or livestockI reserve the right not to spend.
