OMG  Car MOT due 29 Jan, so I was ready to take it off next months budget but oh no DH has done it today, needed a new exhaust bit too (plus petrol as he doesn.t usually take the car = £140
Wow I think I might have to recalculate next months budget due to this months overspend
But I guess it had to be spent somewhere during the yearNow I just can't wait till our insurances are due for renewal so I can get really scrimpy on those too :rotfl:

You need to check through the cashback sites and see who is offering the best incentives. House insurance cashback still has me gobsmackedThey practically PAID ME to insure through them :rotfl:
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

LOL at the health warnings! V funny!
I'm back from town and despite looking to check if there were any amazing bargains, it's still a NSD for me!:D
Talking of insurance, as my car died a couple of weeks ago I phoned my insurer to cancel my policy and he said I couldn't! Isn't this a load of twaddle?? He did say I could suspend my policy until I got a new car but I don't want to do that (I don't know when I'll get another car). I'll ring again but just wondered if anyone had any experience/ knowledge on this? Thanks.
Hmm, I may be having a complete change of heart about moving north - I would still love to but I don't think this is the right time for me. Will need to talk it over with OH but could mean no expensive trip away this weekend (could also mean missing out on cheaper prices up north for the time being ). Life eh, it's a toughy sometimes! Still, this challenge means if we stay then I can spend the money we're saving on doing this place up and increasing its market valueThanks guys for being here to keep me motivated and upbeat, I really appreciate it!:T

I'm doing a batch cook of chilli tonight. I'm not overly hungry so there should be enough for a big portion for OH when he gets back from football practice and enough to fill 2 takeaway tubs for the freezer.

Hi,
I realise this wasn't asked of me, but we are just finishing a 3 month period of living in Aus.
We arrived in November, fly out on the 31st of this month.
I have 4 children as they have dual nationality, we put them all in school for the end of the school year over here.
Mine have all loved it. They have all made good friends, they prefer their friends over here in Aus to England. They love the lifestyle, even though its been one of the wettest summers in 25 yrs and has been no where near as hot as we expected.
Of course I'm Australian and we live a more Australian lifestyle in England than an English one, I think....not just the outdoors thing but our attitude is very Australian, if that makes any sense...
I hope your family enjoy it as much as mine have....
Thanks for that Frankie..we are going over on a perminant visa but I am only planning on going for a few years to see what its like and hopefully get ciizenship for the kids for when they are older.
I want to save a much money as poss by doing this challenge and carry it on over there next year so that I dont have to work!!!
Hope the trip back goes well

just got my gas and electricity bill and I'm £71.46 in credit!:j
I was thinking of switching when Martin gives the green light, but wondering now as I seem to be getting a good deal with the company that has the TV ad about wind power (it really creases me up when the dreadlocks get blown up in the air, reminds me of being at the top of a lighthouse on holiday):rotfl:
I get a discount for dual fuel, and another discount for on line paperless billing:T0 -
i'm being creative with my breadmaker. OH has just hoovered up most of the loaf I made yesterday so it's on again now.
I've chucked in a handful of raisins, chopped dried apricots and dates I had in the cupboard. I've squeezed a bit of honey into the dough mix as it was churning.
See what happens!!!"Stay Wonky":D
