TAKEAWAY???   Was it good? Did you enjoy it? I miss takeaway Indian curry - we don't have any chip shop/Chinese/Indian/Kebab etc takeaways where I live, although the local hotels offer takeaway menus. I just can't bring myself to part with a fiver per head when a week's shopping usually costs £30 max. BUT... I do break my own rule when away visiting family if they stay near a takeaway :rotfl:
I nipped to the shop at lunchtime and did a quick £10 shop again (I know, I know, but the game is quite addictive when you get used to it). Result - £9.55 and the 45p will pay for the potatoes this afternoon :T Got back to find postman had been and delivered 4 x free SIM cards. I think I must have about 10 in total now, for all different networks!
Milk price has been reduced in the Co and, further to my question about using the money off vouchers on goods that are already on half price specials, yes, you can still use them. I just got another 400g block of mature cheddar for a grand total of £1.69 with a replacement 30p off voucher attached to it :j Not forgetting all these nice Co-op dividend points that convert to cashback in Summer. Going to check bank accounts etc now, see if anything else has happened anywhere. I still can't believe Nat West paid £70 cashback on a £78 policy!!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I know Nyk..whoops.....we have 1 every 6-8 weeks. That night I was exhausted, cold and I'd been working all day and I felt really wiped out
It was lovely, we had pizza from Dominos. It was their 555 deal - 3x 9 inch pizzas for £5.55 each. I cook from scratch every single night, we never have any kind of processed food or ready meals, but I just felt too shattered to cook.

Found £2.00 coin out walking the dog on Saturday so I bought a newspaper and that gave me 2 long life light bulbs.
Started job at leisure centre on Sunday, picked up a Sunday Express that had been discarded and got a voucher for some multi-vitamin pills. Have just arranged for leisure centre money to be paid into an ISA.0 -
Hi Keren, you have to admit that splashing out on a takeaway isn't that bad when you have worked so hard to budget and you are fully aware that it IS a special treat. We all need them to keep us going and we should be able to afford them more often if we stick to our frugaling. Isn't this how many of the allegedly rich folks manage to do so much? I mean, what good is it being worth a squillion pounds in stocks, shares and property if you can't get access to a tenner in a hurry?
Who's to say we aren't all like that on here and just can't access our millions without employing the services of financial advisors and legal bigwigs?

Allotment lady just rang - I've got one. Been waiting for 3 years. Will go and visit her on Saturday to find out where it is on the site. Apparently its got a shed as well - how lucky am I!!!!!!!!!!!! Rent is £16 a year, plus £2 for the allotment society. Will pay this years cost out of my piggy bank after I've changed the 1p, 2p and 5p coins into something more reasonable.0

Keren a takeaway every 6-8 weeks is good going so be proud of yourself! Even on here we're allowed a few treats; all the saving you've been doing will help pay for it.
Graciesgran, what a top few days you're having!:T Well done especially on getting your allotment, that's brilliant news! Once we've decided whether we're going or staying, I'm planning on growing my own (well, starting at least). I found 1p on the floor at school today - I tried to give it to one of the disruptive kids (what was I thinking?) and he of course threw it across the room! So of course I picked it up and it's in my money box
Which reminds me, someone left 5 1ps on the table at uni last week so I had them too; if only these young'uns knew what a penny could turn into :j
I think I've talked myself out of my spend day :T - I would really like some bananas to go on my porridge and we're out of apples too but I know we're definitely spending money tomorrow as OH finishes his exams so thought I'd get them then. :A How addictive is frugality?! :rotfl:The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
