Redglass, thanks for the tip about claiming the tax back on things bought for school; I'll definitely do that when I'm back at work as I spend loads on stuff for the kids. How would I go about doing it, is there a form or something?
Bails, sorry I've taken a while to get back - missed logging on for the first time yesterday and took ages to catch up on all the posts! My tax is filed online and I have an accountant to do it because it's quite complicated, lots of different things going on, so I'm sorry but I don't know how to do it if you are on PAYE only, which it sounds as if you are (apologies if I'm making assumptions). Your local tax office should be able to help but if you want to claim for the last tax year, you haven't much time as the deadline is the 31 of this month.'Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin now.' Goethe

Ephemera - I LOVE IT! Your own little patch of Devon sounds fantastic, all those fruit trees and mud and fun and, even better, on a budget with a view to allowing us to visit? I'd start a new challenge to raise enough to get to Devon just to see your little 'permaculture' wonderland when it opens! I really do with you the very, very best with this project and can't wait to read your updatesI reserve the right not to spend.

I played already today but with a boots voucher
I got 2 x No7 gift sets that had been £16 each but were reduced to £4 in 75 % off sale.I also bought xmas gift wrap and tags to bring it up to £10.Thoroughly enjoyed myself and was happy with my bargains :)This was a voucher I'd earned via pigsback.

Hi Mumzy, my tenner isn't spare - it's groceries. I do this in the supermarket and it stops me from buying anything I had no intention of buying. If I spend £8.39 on shopping that should have cost £15 or whatever, I have £2.61 left to visit the charity shop and find something that I can sell! :rotfl:
Notanothergreyhair - I forgot about your expensive hair-do-habitBet it's cheaper than smoking, though. You have almost tempted me to visit the hairdresser with what I have saved from quitting. Or pehaps a nice manicure?

OHhhhhhhhhhhhhh i miss read i will do this next time im shoppingSealed Pot dec 08 - dec 09 so far £27.67, Live off £4k Spent £330.20 GC £1,200 for 2009 Spent £50.78 PaD so far £650.07Debts: L/woods £154.00 C/One PAID O/D £649.90 Next £299.95 O/D PAID Gas £72.60 Electric £155.73 Mum £640.00 Orange £490.320 -
Oh noooooooooo..... :rotfl: Just read my own last post about spending a tenner. Please note that £8.39 + £2.61 does NOT equal £10 :rotfl: I'll just pop back to the shop and explain to the lady on the checkout that she gave me £1 too much change
Just checked Greasypalm and almost all of my cashbacks have tracked and been deposited! Only one big one left to go - the house insurance! Fingers crossed that they can sort out the tracking problem, as it means the total would cover the entire cost of my TV licence this year
Pigsback - I'm awaiting the arrival of my second 'curly' stress pig. Can't help it, I really like themPromise not to order any more and concentrate on trying to save enough for a £10 voucher.

aye right.....will you really do that nyk????....welll mebbe if its the only shop in the wee village......but honestly we wont tell on youcheerio hen0

It was just my bad arithmetic, not an actual example of a £10 shopping expedition. Was hoping I could cast the blame elsewhere but ooooh no, along comes mini_huny_money and rumbles me! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Think I might have an early night and watch a DVD - the excitement of going into town with a tenner is too much for me! Maybe they WILL give me too much change    Maybe it's a premonition!
Maybe I'm going to find £1 or a £1 off voucher... which reminds me (reaching for vouchers box now) Hmm... 30p off Pilgrims Choice Mature Cheddar - wonder if that still works when it's half price? :T
