For those taking part, you might find this collection of posts helpful for meal planning. Black Saturn's is arguably the most 'famous' and I can vouch for the cobbler being excellent.

    Hi Shelley,

Looks like you're getting some good advice there. How're you managing with Xmas? Don't want to be putting more on the credit cards:naughty:

I have finally got off my backside and downgraded my bank account to one without a monthly charge. It was really easy, just a quick phone call. I was sure they'd tell me to write in but no! all handled over the phone. So if anyone else hasn't got round to it yet, do it now! NOW! RIGHT THIS MINUTE!

ooo Whitewing was it Barclays bank? I keep threatening to this..... sits and twiddles thumbs a bit more.....
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Curses I thought I had signed up for this! but I never did come back with a plan, oopps I did work it out though,

I am going to change my standing orders (my banking is very complicated!) and lower my spending money and change my phone bill DD so it comes out of a different account essentially meaning i have one current account to pay debts and my other one to have spending money in....... that will be 330 pounds per month... which once I have paid my phone bill I will have a maximum of 75 qid a week to spend which I don't need sooooo I take 50 pounds out per week and challenge myself to not spend it if you see what I mean and what ever is left at the end of the month will be paid to the loan.

I will also sell on e bay and keep a balance on my paypal account so I can still buy cheaper pet food online will have to do a lot of selling.... and I am having a bit of success selling on Green Metroplis - really recommand it, self help books seem to sell really well!:o You only get a couple of quid depending on postage etc but I find it asier then trying to sell books on amazon or ebay

Any how enough rambling I shall now go and figure out my bank stuff

    see you later.

Buffy, I think you should be aiming to pay off £9738 then you will be under the £10000 mark! Worth aiming for that extra pound!!

    Today in the hypno household has been.......A NSD :j :j :j :j :j

We are right out of bread, almost out of milk and only two cups of coffee can be made before we run out of that. I am washing up by hand because I am out of dishwasher tabs, and I am using shower gel as soap in the en-suite because I have run out of handwash.........but I resisted the shops today, and spent nothing!!!

Of course, that means that tomorrow needs some money spent, but hopefully not too much - I will manage without the dishwasher for a little while longer.

Hypno6, could you manage to squeeze another £2.76 off your debt so it looks pretty as a nice round number that ends in a 5 or a 0? :rotfl: :D:o

I know it's too soon to be defeatist.. but I've already realised today how ingrained my habits are and how hard it is to remember your goals.

<Feel free to skip if too long>

I thought I was doing ok (well for 3 days in!) but like a dieter who 'forgets' meals, I think I forget spending! I've had a real rollercoaster emotional day today and I've managed to spend a fortune.

There was money in my purse that I wasn't counting for the challenge which bought my breakfast, and I had a free coffee from the nice lady in the canteen. So far, so good. Then £20 for my friends wedding present. Then lunch which came out of the purse money. Then I got home and spent £296 on diet food.... well, I guess if I don't need to shop for a month that's ok, but I feel bad about spending and bad about being fat and bad about this guy I like who hasn't noticed me.....well you know.

So I promised my mum I would buy my dad's christmas present from her and needed to get some munchies for tommorrows last day at work and ended up spending nearly £30 in Sainsbury, £7 of which is magazines that I do NOT need. I feel like a dieter who has binged already.

I don't need to live on £4K. I want to because it supports my other goals, but being £30 over will not mean bankruptcy for me.. and I've been around here for long enough to know that for some people it might. So I feel bad about that too.

Thank G*d tommorrow is another day.
