I was just a bit confused by the entertainment and WoW payments... what's WoW? Wombles of Wimbledon? World of Wildlife? Wonders of Websites? With or Without? :D Me not know what WoW means, sorry :rotfl:

I'm starting this from tomorrow (I've only just registered and can't remember what I've spent so far this year so it seems easiest). Miss out an entire week so by my sums (could be wrong) thats £3923 for the year.

I'm going to count my rent and mortgage etc (shared ownership) and car costs as essentials not to be counted - I do use the car occasionally for just me rather than work but I wouldn't have it if it wasn't that I had to for work so... So in return the water and electricity bills WILL be found from the £3923.

I'm hoping it won't be too bad as I only have myself to buy for. The money I earn and don't spend will be put toward decorating my new flat and overpaying on my mortgage :A
    Toodle-pip :hello:

Hi Jay1, welcome to money madness and mayhem! Glad you are joining us here. The www.spendingdiary.com site is excellent for keeping up to date with what you spend! (I'm a new convert to that, can you tell?)

Good luck and don't be scared to ask any questions. There'll always be someone around here to answer :)

happy116.gif We now have 111 people now taking part in this challenge!

Well done to all who have committed themselves (and their households) to this frugal lifestyle and I really hope you all enjoy the ups and downs that will be 2008.

Week one is now complete. :T

For beginning week 2, deduct everything you have spent from your annual allowance (eg: this is mine: £4000 - £86.37 = £3913.63).
Divide your new balance by 359 and then multiply it by 7 to see your new weekly target (Mine is £3913.63/359 = 10.90 x 7 = £76.31)

My grocery challenge is set at £120 per month and this month has 31 days, so that's equivalent to £3.87 per day
