Congratulations to all who have survived week one without slinking off into hiding never to be heard from again :)

I just LOVE that little www.spendingdiary.com website, it is so quick and easy to use and even lets you print out each weekly or monthly budget! Amazingly simple! This is what it has thgrown out for my week 1:

    Everything else - £59.02
    Gifts - £3.49
    Groceries - £16.67
    Savings - £7.19
    Total weekly spend - £86.37

The 'everything else' payment was a DD to a credit card - I pay in full every month - but that included 2 extra pressies for 2008 use plus a £15 donation to Children in Need, which was raised through my eBid charity auctions, so I haven't really spent it. Also, the part for savings includes my £2 coins, which are technically still here for spending if needs must.

    The conclusion of week 1:
Initial amount to spend = £4000 over 366 days, average £76.50 per week
New balance = £3913.63 over 359 days, average £76.31 per week

Now you'll begin to see what I mean about every penny you spend impacts on your overall budget. This week's spend has cost me 19p per week off my original budget :D

I never did get around to starting making anything to sell, been too busy today. However, I do have a complete inventory of ALL edibles in the house and am going to do one for gifts that were purchased over the past months when bargains were too good to miss.

Any freebies today? YES! My complaint about the 2 missing glue sticks from my glue gun resulted in a full 6 pack being sent out as compensation. And, my new Martin Lewis book arrived - £3.49 inc P&P - plus my cashback has been validated through greasypalm. Don't forget that this is free bonus points week on Pigsback.com
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

  • Woohoo I only spent 99p today on some new dummys for DS!!:rotfl: I also managed to get 2 birthday presents for my nans out of Boots half price sale with my points :j

Also DH is getting my card site up and running again so hopefully I can sell some handmade cards this year (not sure when I am going to find time to make them once baby arrives but I will give it a go!!) :p

  • As predicted my spend went up today :(

Train ticket to Uni - £5.00 (it's gone up 20p again!)
Parking - 80p (Hubs picked me up from town and I helped with parking payment).
    Groceries - £7.75
Also I bought a few books but I used Christmas money that I'd been given from MiL for most of it (so doesn't come out of my budget as I always knew I had it spare) so I'm only including the excess £1.94.

    Total: £15.49

Tomorrow I should only be spending £5 for my train ticket and head back on track again.

Well done to everyone who's still here! I've been given what seems like hundreds of diaries this year so I'm using up a second as my spending/weight diary.

  • I had a nsd today. went to work, which was horrible and in fact I should be working now but I can't, I just cant do it.

I am so far sticking to my spending budget of 50 quid a week for lnches, birthdays, nights out and well, clothes when I need them. I could spend 75 quid a week but i am not going to .

I moved my Ou fees to my 0% credit card which I am pleased about and set up a standing order to pay it off, it was really good actully MBNA gave me 12 at 0%. I was stunned.

but I am tired so am I going to sort out stuff for tomorrow. oh God I have no lunch. shoot. I just want to go to bed!

sorry to be such a misery.

hope you guys are doing good

    xx

Whilst for me I discovered that an all day saver (bus) has actually gone down by 50p, Admittedly I don't count my fares in this as they are paid/reimbursed to me, but was still a nice surprise.

well ive just got back from asda and i have spent £75.73 but i got all stocked up on bread flour and normal flour and bought all ingredients to bake lots of cakes. I have so far made carrot cake, flapjack, choc rice krispie cakes, chewy cookies :P
I wont need any shopping for the rest of the month, but maybe milk. Im also going to start training my dd to stay dry in the day. Ohhhhhhhh and also i didnt realise my dd birthday is so close (beginning of feb). She will get £20 off me..as she has too many toys already from xmas. So will put that in to savings.

So i have spent £75.73. I have £13 from last week to put back in bank and £20 i withrew from bank to pay for shopping but didnt spend that much so £20 is going back where it came from. I have £20 left in my purse till next week (i will try not to spend it, and also cant go out as my Ds has chickenpox, he is 3)..the few pence that was left over from last week has gone in my sealed pot. (iam sure ive just repeated myself as i posted all this b4..ohh never mind)
