Missing kitty...advice please

Hi my 9mth old Kitten has gone missing today.
I have phoned al local vets and local police to see if any dead or injured kittens have been handed in...but nothing
I also phoned rspca helpline.
I will be putting a poster in local shop window tommorrow and will keep checking adverts to see if anyone advertises him as found.
I am really gutted and his sister keep walking round the room whining for him.... she never usually makes a peep.
Is there anybody else I should phone? Is it the council that disposes of cats that have been knocked down and left by roadside?

Hope he comes home soon.
Have you tried your local rescue centres too? Might be worth a try. Is he microchipped? If so, let the microchip register know.
I'd also put posters on lamp posts etc. There must a be a forum for lost cats somewhere, like doglost - maybe a cat person will be along with an website.
Good luck,

how long have you had her and is this the first time she's disappeared?
cats often go missing for days on end and she may just stroll in unconcerned tomorrow.
The first time my cat went missing i was prowling the estate at midnight hunting in the hedges every time i heard a rustle, didn't find her ofcourse... next morning she was sitting on the back doorstep waiting for her breakfast.
does your town have a cats protection league/stray cats fund? they seem to be the ones round here who place all the ads in the papers for lost&found cats.Wiggly:heartpulsFB0 -
There isa website called my moggy where you canput an advert. Ihave had to do this as my cat went missing nearly 4 weeks ago and still has not returned. I phoned all vets within 6 mile and rspca etc. I put notes through peoples doors and in shops. hope your cat returns safe and well.0

No point in getting too worried in the first 24 hours. In my experience they are often locked in somewhere. Check your garage/shed/airing cupboard if you have been in and ask the neighbours too.0

ask nieghbours to check gararges and sheds, as cats are nosey by nature and may sneak in for a quick look to find owner has finished and locks up. when i was small we had a cat who went missing and was found 2 weeks later when our next door nieghbours returned from a camping trip and returned their roofrack to the shed. luck for sooty they had a leaky roof (cat survised on rain water) and a large mouse problem (apparent by large numbers of half eaten mice found in shed). soot was glad to get back home comforts though.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. Thanks for the replies....
I forgot to mention before, that I am mainly concerned because he followed us down to the end of the road then as we went round the corner to the school he didn't follow, sometimes dos this and then goes home or hags around until we are on our way home then comes with us. But on this occasion, as we were walking home there were two cars parked by the side of the road and they were comforting a dog that one of them had knocked over (dog semed ok just a hurt leg) on our way up the road we were saying, we wondered whether the dog had seen our kitten over the road and that might be why it had run into the road.....We maybe should of gone back and asked but couldn't be sure our kitten hadn't gone home. So we went home first he wasn't around, looked in the usual places and no sign of him. We went back down to where the dog had been hit, which is the same place as we had last seen our kitten. Unfortunately they had all gone by this time so we had no way of finding out what had happened (they may have seen where he went). I do hope the dog is ok and hope that Mario isn't responsible, at least the poor dog was being cared for.
Anyway I wonder if either Mario was hit too or the dog frightened him off in a direction he didn't know, I feel sad thinking he might be freezing outside scared and alone. My only hope is he has either found somewhere to shelter for the night and will come home tommorrow, or someone has taken him in and will either advertise him or see our advert......
Sorry for the long post, i'm just really worried about him.

p.s no he wasn't microchipped, we were going to get them both done after christmas....Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Hi,
When my cat went missing I put posters in shops & also put leaflets through doors in the immediate area. I rang cats Protection & the Police.I walked round every night for 2 weeks calling her, asking people etc. Heard nothing. Six weeks later when I had given up hope & presumed she had been knocked down she appeared bold as brass at my front gate & started miaowing! She was clean & well fed & to this day I have no clue as to where she was all that time. The moral of the story is never give up - as silly vixen says cats are nosey, they're also mercenary & can go where they're getting fed! Hope Mario is found soon.0 -

I didn't think of that! Cats can be randy as well as nosey/ mercenary!0
