Getting name taken off ex-dh insurance policy

The issue is that I don't know his address and everything still keeps coming to my home. And I don't know anyone that knows his address.

Ah, your best approach then is to contact the DVLA (phone or letter) to let them know that neither the keeper or car live at your address. They should then remove the link between the car and your address which may result in the car being pulled over by the police at some point since it has no address (I think).

Because I wasn't paying attention and was thinking you'd transfer the keeper from old address to a new one at the new address, rather than being able to just change the address.

I've now contacted the insurance company following a link from another user. To report fraud as I have received documents for someone who does not live at this address.
Still getting documentation from the DVLA. Latest one today. Will find the address and write to them.0 -

Not sure if that is just for returns. I think I'm just going to send the latest letter back with a note inside to say he no longer lives at the address.0

Got an email back from the insurance company that thanks me for making them aware and they have updated on their system.
Not sure if that means they will cancel his insurance but that is his problem. He is due to renew on 22/11.0 -
Looking online, it seems that the general consensus if people have 'forgotten' to inform their insurance company that they have moved, is that the company would be unlikely to invalidate their insurance.
Considering he has had an at fault accident in the past month, and presumably a payout (hence being able to buy a new car), is it likely that they will go after him as his insurance wasn't valid at the time of the accident?0 -
If an insurance company can find a way to try to recover any outlay they've made then I wouldn't be surprised if they took it.
Given your forum name, are you (and he) in NI? (Not sure if that changes any of the advice previously given).Jenni x0
