bioboybill said:I'm with E.ON Next and they have taken the full amount this month, whereas it says on their site that the DD will have the £66 EPG deducted. It happened fine last month, and my account shows the £66 Support Scheme money in on 1st November, so it's obviously a mistake. Will join the phone queue shortly.0

Cbioboybill said:The woman from E.ON Next phoned me back within half an hour. She admitted that the £66 should have been deducted, but for some reason their system had set the DD as the full amount. She said she could either add the £66 to the amount I was in credit, send £66 to my bank within a few working days, or I could phone my bank to cancel the DD and set up a new one. I opted to have the £66 sent to my bank, as I'm already about £380 in credit and cba to phone the bank. She said she would make sure the correct amount was set for following months. We'll see what happens, but credit to them for phoning me back quickly unlike some CS at places like Virgin who never do what they say.
Glad to hear they got back to you promptly anyway - fingers crossed the refund arrives as promised!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Auti said:They have taken my full direct debit this month and last month. They put the EPG as a credit to the account. They have not reduced the direct debit amount taken from bank. They still have not updated my IHD since my tariff ended
Last month they did correctly reduce my DD by the EPG amount (for me).
So it would seem (some?) people having £66 more taken they expected, and their energy accounts having £66 more than their estimated usage this month.
I'm not on the breadline, so I'll leave it be, but I can imagine that this would cause trouble for a struggling household.
My IHD has only just updated, so despite it taking months and months on, I'd still give it time.Know what you don't0 -
I'm on a payment holiday with Octopus but my monthly usage is less than £66/67 for electric and gas, last month it was £63 and it is expected to by under £70 in November. I still haven't put the heating on.Someone please tell me what money is0

This also happened to me but I wasn't aware it was a widespread problem. I thought it was just me since I had reduced my direct debit through their website that month. I did try to get in touch with them via WhatsApp and email but no response yet. It's not causing me any financial distress but it is annoying since I'm now accumulating a lot of credit with them that I know I will not use any time soon. Based on this thread, I guess I will just wait to see what happens next month and potentially request a refund if needed.2023 Mortgage-Free Wannabe #19: £11,675.68/£13,000

Same for me with Eon credited the £66 then took the full DD amount.
I don't mind this month but did raise this in an email to them and they have adjusted my DD for next month by £66 to stop this happening again.
That does seem to suggest their new stance is credit the £66 to the account and take the full DD.
Let's see what happens next month.

With E.ON if your DD is less than £67 a month then they’ll take the full amount and refund £67. If it’s more than £67 then they’ll reduce your DD by £67.0

I didnt mind to be honest but it could have made other customers overdrawn when budgeting.0
