kellettlm said:I have an email saying my DD would go down for the next 6 months to £8 from £73.21 as it would be made up by the Governments 66 pound a month scheme and that i didnt need to do anything ...
low and behold they took the full amount of the 73.21 on the 1st ...the excuse given..."the government dont pay us till the 3rd to the 5th of each month so you cant have it yet !!!!" they actually said this too me !!!!
they said I can ask for a rebate when they get their money from the government but having waited 2 hours for this call I dont believe this will happen !! I am in total shock at the lies told all to keep my money with them . Please can this be flagged up

Got through to an advisor within a minute, but they asked me to bear with them and put me on hold without taking any info other than that they had taken too much. About 5 minutes later the woman told me her system was playing up, but she would call me back. She said she was in the same boat and had had the full amount deducted. I think their phones will be busy today lol.

bioboybill said:I'm with E.ON Next and they have taken the full amount this month, whereas it says on their site that the DD will have the £66 EPG deducted. It happened fine last month, and my account shows the £66 Support Scheme money in on 1st November, so it's obviously a mistake. Will join the phone queue shortly.bioboybill said:Got through to an advisor within a minute, but they asked me to bear with them and put me on hold without taking any info other than that they had taken too much. I've seen the rebate is today showing on my statement in my online account (I'm not sure about you?) - so in reality there's two issues, 1) they've not deducted the rebate from the DD as they should have, blindsiding people with how much was taken this month, 2) as they look to be adding the rebate on top of the full direct debit to your energy account, you will accrue more credit than estimated.Know what you don't0 -

I've got this:
Might suggest the first month was slightly late but this month was credited on 1 Nov0 -
The woman from E.ON Next phoned me back within half an hour. She admitted that the £66 should have been deducted, but for some reason their system had set the DD as the full amount. She said she could either add the £66 to the amount I was in credit, send £66 to my bank within a few working days, or I could phone my bank to cancel the DD and set up a new one. I opted to have the £66 sent to my bank, as I'm already about £380 in credit and cba to phone the bank. She said she would make sure the correct amount was set for following months. We'll see what happens, but credit to them for phoning me back quickly unlike some CS at places like Virgin who never do what they say.1

I think they are getting on top of this - my online account was looking distinctly odd earlier in the week, but is all normal now.
I'd second the view that folks need to relax about all this. By all means keep an eye on the accounting, but give it time and it will almost certainly sort itself out.0 -
If Eon have taken more in DD than anyone was advised then you can call your bank and invoke the DD guarantee and have the money back in your account on the same day.
If them taking the wrong amount hasn’t caused any financial problems then I agree with others that sitting tight and waiting would be the best option as it will sort itself when EON realise what has gone wrong.
However if this higher DD amount has caused financial issues, then call your bank and get that refund. You can then make a manual card payment on the EON website of the correct monthly amount to ensure your account is still in good standing, and the £66 difference will be back in your bank for you to use on whatever you need it for.3 -
I'm with EonNext the rebate was in my account on the 1st but took a day to update, they must of temporarily stopped my direct debit because nothing came out of my bank, i imagine they have temporarily stopped my direct debit as im in credit.
I'm not sure though if my direct debit is setup in my email it said how much my direct debit would be but in my eon account its saying i could choose to pay by direct debit to get cheaper prices. That might be just a information banner.0 -
Be aware that for anyone on variable DD the rebates seem to have caused a return to fixed DD for some accounts. Just had to sort mine out with CS !0
