Co-operative Refer a Friend Switching Offer £125 (Nov 2022)

Yes people have received the £125 this time round that had the £50, but they didn't have an account as of the 01/11/2022 as they'd closed their previous accounts in 2021.3

Hot off the press.
"4.1 We can withdraw this offer at any time and should we choose to do so, we will update our website with the final switching date on which we will honour any payments."
No idea where this info is.0 -

- Co-op Account 1 opened and Switch 1 completed on 23/11/2021, £50 paid 24/11/2021
- Co-op Account 1 closed for another switch offer sometime in 2021/22
- Co-op Account 2 opened and Switch 2 completed on 08/12/2022, £125 paid 09/12/2022
Worth saying that whilst the first account was closed, they clearly retained my online profile, as the second account uses the same log-in details and I didn't have to reregister for online banking, so they know Account 2 is owned by the same person that got a payment for Account 1. Although on both applications I would have provided them with identical information (name, contact, address etc.).1 -

I guess we'll just have to wait until "the time of withdrawal" before the final switching date is actually "stated".
In the absence of any further information from Co-op, I would expect any application made up to December 2016 to be eligible, and if not, certainly worthy of a complaint for them not abiding by their own T&Cs.0 -

Probably best to give them the benefit of the doubt at this stage. Considering the average punter, who gets encouraged to open a Co-op account by a friend or family member, does so within the next few days, who they'd want to make provisions for them applying for the fee-paying account where a switch cannot be arranged at the time of account opening, then takes the festive period + a couple of weeks to get up and running before phoning to arrange the switch... they ought to allow switches that complete well into January, if not early Feb. I doubt anyone moving swiftly in the next couple of days will be disappointed (unless they are deemed not to be a new customer).

Apparently, a switch can only start once an account has been open for seven (calendar) days, so the date choices offered during the application process aren't the soonest, to account for the variable amount of time it takes to open an account. The calendar selection also doesn't factor in bank holidays, so whilst 30th December was the earliest completion date selectable (which I chose), this implied a switch start date of 22nd December, which actually results in a completion date of 4th January after bank holidays (although this isn't communicated).
Considering the total lack of received paperwork due to the postal strikes, I called them (confirming the above information) and was able to reschedule my switch to the earliest possible date, choosing the start date instead of the completion date.
I also asked when I could submit the referral form and was initially told I could only do so after the switch was complete. I then mentioned the terms and conditions, specifically 4.3:
4.3 If we withdraw the offer, the Recommended Friend will have 14 days from the date the offer is withdrawn to return the referral formAs the withdrawal date is 16th December, this means 30th December is the last date on which the referral form can be submitted. If the referral form can only be submitted after switches are complete, this would prevent all switches with later completion dates from claiming the offer.
I was put on hold for several minutes whilst the agent confirmed with a colleague if I was able to submit the referral now, with the known completion date that was just rescheduled and confirmed minutes prior. Eventually, she returned with good news, so I submitted the form immediately. I'm not expecting to receive any postal mail until January at this rate.
