Trace Debt Recovery - Demand for outstanding payment

Hi all,
I've been reading the posts around this so apologies in advance. However, the advise is contradicting and confusing me!!
Moved house in May 2021 and I've received 2 DOP letters on 11/10/22 and 27/10/22. Both letters request £170 and relate to:
Date of parking charge notice: 27/11/2018 (4 years ago!)
Client: National Parking Management Limited
I'm not aware of this incident.
1) So, the advice i'm reading is to ignore these letters. Is this correct?
2) Is there any harm in writing to NPM Ltd with a subject access request letter? Or does this make me available to the scam?
3) ignoring these letters - Result = "potential escalation to our client's solicitor". Is potential the key word here?
Thanks for you help with this.

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collectors letters but to summarise that post - ignore them.
Does the DVLA have up to date Registered Keeper's details?2 -

Yes, I can confirm these are up to date and have been.

Yes, I can confirm these are up to date and have been.SAR the PPC then. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

After the tickets was issued, the PPC would have got your details from the DVLA for your previous address.
As the PPC cannot access your details twice, they got Trace to locate your new address.
Trace are a pointless, powerless company TO IGNORE.
They have proven this to you by saying "potential escalation to our client's solicitor" ...... that is something TRACE cannot do.
Trace can send you as many letters as they wish, it's their money and their time wasted. Just one of the jokers in the scam industry
Do SAR the PPC, you need the info they hold on you
See what they say and wait to see if they pass it one of daft legals who hang around the scam
More often than not these old claims end up with a court spanking for the legal ....... whoever is daft enough to take this on2 -

Thanks for the help all. I'll SAR the PPC and update. Do I hide my address details as they will then know where I am.......? Or can they still not take me to court ?

Failure to do that leaves the way open for the parking company or their solicitor to file a court claim at you old address, and as you will know nothing about it they will get a Default Judgment against you due to your failure to defend yourself.
Do not try to hide - it won't work.3 -

Don't worry, NO CRETIN will call upon you
Let's see what they say .... yes, they can still take you to court if they are brave enough, you see this forum is famous for getting dodgy claims spanked in court .... nothing to worry about
PS: they may want ID, they may ask for a drivers licence or similar ..... never to scammers ....your V5 is is fine2 -

I thought the SAR section of the NEWBIES thread (that I wrote ages ago) tells everyone about the importance of also rectifying wrong addresses?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So....SAR details received.
It looks like i was a naughty boy. I have no idea why i had parked here expecially as it was 4 years ago..
Reason for the ticket was:Not only did you park without a valid permit, according to the Highway Code – Waiting and Parking Rule 243, you should not stop or park:
- Where the kerb has been lowered to help wheelchair users and powered mobility vehicles or
- Park opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space.
What's the next steps to this?0 -
I thought The Highway Code defined rules for use of the highway.
Does that Highway Code rule 243 apply on private property?
