  • Hi, just wanting to check, do I submit the defence PDF via email (CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk), not through the Gov website where it says start defence?

Every step, including who to send things to, is detailed in the 12 points of the first post of the Template Defence Announcement. Please keep referring to that as your case progresses. If you find anything missing in it, please do let us know.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

But four weeks ago I wrote on your thread...
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

  • Sorry, I'm even more confused now. I read the advice from the Template Defence Announcement thread and it said to submit the defence via email to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk? Is the correct? My mental health causes me memory issues as well as doubting my own knowledge so that's why i'm double checking.

    That is correct.
  • Thanks so much for confirming, i've sent it off and awaiting the next steps.
  • Hi all. I've received a letter dated 28th Dec from the DCB Legal saying the claimant wants to continue. I haven't had a letter from the court yet so do I just ignore their letter and await the official letter from the court or shall I start planning the next steps? Thanks

As per the Newbies thread, that's incredibly common from DCBL. Keep an eye on your MoneyClaim login for when the court issues your directions questionnaire, and return that to the court. No need to panic though, as I'm sure others point out they either discontinue, or if they don't end up with their backsides looking like a Japanese flag once it does get to court.
