No photos go this early.  It will be in 2023 at WS stage.

Sounds like you should re-read IMPORTANT: KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN, a red capitals heading in the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread.

When do they need to be submitted, with the defence statement presumably?
No, it's the evidence element attaching to your Witness Statement which comes later in the process (probably some months away).  But you must make sure you have the template paragraph about inadequate signage in your Defence so that it opens the door to further develop things on that front in your WS.

While it's not desperately urgent to check out and photograph the signage, I wouldn't leave it too long in case the PPC changes things there.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks, if I read that right from the newbies thread and from the linked post on court procedure it suggests that photos and videos are uploaded as evidence, after you have a date for a hearing. Is that correct? Or does it go in when you submit your defence?

OK that makes sense, thanks for clarifying. I will go and take photos as soon as I'm back.

They provided me with a map of all the sign locations in the car park when I submitted the SAR.
Do you have your own photos of the distribution of the signage around the car park?  If so, do they match what UKPC say in their map?  If there is discrepancy, that can be a very strong point at court, on which some motorists have succeeded.
No, but I will see if I can get some. When do they need to be submitted, with the defence statement presumably? If so that shouldn't be a problem. I'll try to see if I can get them at roughly the same time / weather as the day I visited as it was dark and wet at the time.

I will also take some pics of other car parks as well to show the difference in durations.

Thanks for the suggestions, will also work on the defence statement and make it more succinct .. first time doing this so appreciate the nudges in the right direction

@Umkomaas makes good points about signage which you can use in your WS provided you have opened the door in your defence by making a point of it.
No, see my comment earlier, reproduced here for you.  It's just a defence not defence statement.

I believe that has been answered three times now!

Thanks for the guidance folks, here is a shorter version just stating the facts:

    3. The defendant was not aware of the maximum time limit to park in the car park being two hours. On arrival at the car park and when driving to the parking space, the defendant did not notice any signage stating the maximum duration of stay.
    Is that sufficient?

I have been back today at the same time of day and in the same weather conditions and taken a drivers line of sight video and photos from where I have parked/video of leaving the car and going to the shop which I will also submit.

From the video you don't see any signs (coming into the car park they are on the far left out of the driver's line of sight, then there is one which is high up on your right which is also out of your direct line of sight as it is at the point where you are turning left into the road space between the bays).

Where I parked they are behind you but at 90 degrees to you, so you would not see them. The only one directly facing you is the one with lots of tiny writing, nothing about the parking duration or that could be expected to be read at such a distance.

Happy to share the images/video if it would help with adding anything to the statement above?

Does the claim form actually give the parking date in the Particulars of Claim on the left?

It lists the PCN details including the date and the number.

Is that OK @Coupon-mad - it does state the date in the Particulars of Claim.
