I also forgot to say that no matter what products you use on your face, always end by splashing cold water (colder the better) over your face. This closes the pores which are opened by washing and also increases circulation to your face to improve complexion.0

Hi - I have very sensitive skin, particularly the eye area so I'm really careful about what I use. Like most people with sensitive skin it's also dry so I need to use creams so my skin doesn't get that awful tight feeling.
I used Almay for ages & then got a reaction to that. I tried No7 eye cream & that was fine for many years until one day my eyes were red & sore & flaky & itchy. Just as they used to get before I found No7.
After a couple of days (wearing sunglasses at all times) they weren't much better so I went to the local chemist to ask for advice. The first one said to go to the doctor but I thought that was a bit extreme so I tried a different chemist. He recommended a cream called Oilatum. It comes in a little tube, costs a couple of pounds, lasts for months & months & is the best thing ever.
I've used it morning & night ever since & can't recommend it highly enough.0 -

I have been desperately trying to find an alternative for Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion which is the only product that doesn't affect my eyes. I've used it for years, but it's horribly expensive. Everything else including many makes for "sensitive skin", leave me reaching for my sunglasses as well
Thanks for the recommendation - I'll give Oilatum a try0 -

I am partial to those lovely Mac pigments/glitter eye shadows that come in a small pot and cost about 20 quid! I found lots of sellers on ebay who sell tiny pots of these for a fraction of the price (about £2-3) In my experience I have found them to be v good, and as they last simply an age anyway it doesnt matter that you only have a tiny bit!!
Brilliant!! xx0 -
Oilatum also comes as a bath/shower oil and can be prescribed by the doctor which would mean you can get it for FREE if you live in Wales or get free prescriptions. My son has it for his excema.0

ALSO - everyone prob knows about this anyway as Martin featured it in his newsletter ages ago - ELF makeup, all £1.50 and pretty decent stuff! Club together with your friends to make it over £30 and get free P&P. Great for pressies for people, it's really nice stuff x0

Ebay have stopped sellers selling these now, I think it was because there was so much fake MAC stuff floating around.Following the Slimming World Plan and Exercising

ooh, if you like MAC eyeshadow, there is a brand called Sleek which is really good quality and has a similar strength of pigmentation, its excellent!
I have only found it in afro carribean stores, and I believe its aimed at black ladies, however, I am white and very pasty and the colours work well for me! They have a bit of a shimmer and are lovely and easy to apply.
I bought a palatte of 12 colours, with a nice big mirror in the lid for less than 4 quid, and I have been using it since before christmas. There is an excellent bronzey brown which is very easy to wear, and a nice range of colours, from subtle to bold.0 -
I have really enjoyed reading all the posts on this thread.
I used to spend a smaller fortune on day and night creams for my dehydrated skin. For the last few weeks I have been using Honey Hydro moisturiser from Martha Hill and it's been fab. I bought a set of day creme, night creme, cleanser and toner for a special introductionary price of £19.80 for all 4 products.
In the Daily Mail on Sunday on the 2/3 on page 83 there was an offer on the 50ml jar of Honey Hydro moisturiser for £1.52 + an s.a.e. Sorry, I know I should have posted this on Sunday but I hadn't discovered this thread then.
