Fantastic tips!
I have naturally curyly hair and after 5 years of daily straightening I decided 3 weeks ago to just go back to curly. I am definitely going to try the CO washing and get the experts curl, especially as the new boots mag has a points coupon for anything from experts range:DI also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like youwould like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing

I get really itchy and dandruff from most shampoos but I love my tresemme!
It's so cheap for the size- even when it's not on BOGOF. I'll definately stick with it. I love the smell too and use it for everything including cleaning the bath and loo!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

Where is the best place to buy natural products so I can make my own homemade beauty stuff? More importantly, where can I find jojoba oil? as I was told it is great for blackheads.
Havent yet had chance to try these suppliers - but here you are:

I used to be a compulsive spender on hair and beauty products. I have curly hair and dry skin and tried everything new on market. I finished work last November and now carry spending money instead of using debit card so am more careful. I emptied out my makeup drawers and used up all the small pots and samples of cream and shampoos, found lots of pressies I had received of body and foot lotions so using these up as well. I have finally come to the end of my day and night creams so need to buy some more. I sent for a sample of Olay definity serum and liked it so much I bought some using my Boots voucher but now used this up but at £24.99 I am reluctant to spend this much again so must find somelthing cheaper to try. Just using cash helps. I will try just using conditioner to wash my curly hair but anyone know of a serum for my dry skin that has been tried and tested . Excellent tread this0

Can I add my two pennies worth to this thread? I'm the woman who did the money saving beauty bit on Martins show on Wednesday and i've been into natural beauty stuff for years. I spend a lot of time researching products before I will use them.
Firstly, no offence but I'd throw that pot of petroleum jelly straight into the bin. Its a by product of the oil industry - it was discovered as a sticky substance sticking to the legs of the oil rigs and the workers used to apply it to cuts and wounds to keep them clean. It has no healing properties, its just a barrier cream. So in effect, yes you keep the area bug free but air cannot penetrate either to start the healing process. A much better product is aloe vera.
People think that soap is drying on the skin, yes it is when you buy it from the shops but have a go at making your own and you will find its the best product around. Soap that is made in a factory is drying because its been stripped of its moisturisers. When soap is made, glycerin is the moisturising by product of the process. Glycerin brings moisture to the skin and hydrates it, its also worth a lot of money in the beauty industry so it is usually skimmed off the freshly made soap and sold off. When you make your own soap this glycerin is of course still in there to do its magic.
Jojoba oil is a wonderful oil yes. Its molecular structure is very small which means its able to penetrate deeper into the pores and 'wash out' dirt and debris. It makes a fab facial cleanser but if you want something cheaper then go with good old olive oil. It removes make up and grime very effectively and leaves your skin soft and comfortable.0 -
I have discovered something rather interesting over the past few months. I always used rather expensive creams; day, night, eye creams etc. All of which were good. However, since I have been moneysaving I decided to use E45 as a substitute to all my creams. Amazingly after a few weeks of using my skin looks fantastic. I had a few fine lines around my eyes that are hardly noticable. The tone of my skin is much better and seems to work well as a make up base. (My foundation seems more even).
Will not go back to any other cream now and its saving me a small fortune too!:j0 -

E45 is really fab on cracked/rough heels too - slap it on before going to bed and stick a pair of socks on to keep the moisture in...doing this on a regulas basis keeps my hooves lovely and softI'm paranoid about these at the moment as it's my best friend's wedding in April, and I'm wearing a lovely pair of opened heeled/toed shoes and want my feet to look nice and soft!

Will try that one before my holidays! I have also done something similar when I have dry hands. Slap it on, rubber gloves on then wash the dishes.0 -
