  • We used to go camping and my mum would grab a slipper or plimsoll (yes I remember them too  :D) turn it upside down and use it as a brush to sweep out the tent! Couldn't believe my eyes the first time I saw her do it and it always made me smile when she swept the tent floor. I don't know where that idea came from but her mum was in service and my mum got a lot of clever little tips to make housework easier from her. I must ask her about them the next time I see her.

When I was a teenager I had long hair down to my waist. Before I hoovered my bedroom I’d put rubber gloves on and make like I was wiping crumbs off a table. Brought up all the long hairs and probably saved our hoover!

The softer bristles of a double sided dog brush brings up dog hair from carpet too. Just pretend you’re brushing a dog that likes a good hard brushing 🙂

edit - they work directly on the dog too!
