Friday 25th November 2022
5 days left, 6 counting today. Take stock. How can you profitably use these days? Or are you wiped out and need to rest?
Do what you need to. Do what you can. Hugs to all those of you who are struggling (or just in need of a hug).
I need to sort this outpatient appointment and do these pesky queries for the solicitor - which means rummaging through tons of stuff. Don't want any delays now but really really could do without it.
Grateful for first world problems (I can only push myself so far - if it doesn't get sent until Monday so be it), being able to rest when I'm sick (I remember working with flu and my co-worker hiding me in the swimming pool changing rooms for a break, working with my right arm in a sling and I'm so sorry for the poor delivery driver found dead at the wheel of his van through working far too many hours), seeing DS1 and darling d-i-l tomorrow (atm I'm thinking I might have to miss this evenings film but I've been looking forward to it and need to understand the arrangements for next year - I think there's a change of venue).9 -
Exciting time @DrCarrie.
Yesterday was a complete write off, stayed in bed most of the day just having no energy. Not sure what that was.
Anyway, almost back to normal today. Had yet another (now monthly email) from bulb, saying that my DD needs increased as my monthly usage is £226 and I will go into debt soon. I could also top up my account to get back on track. I could laugh if it wasn't scaremongering and some people will listen to this. BTW we used £166 last month (with increased prices and heating on), we pay £100 (agreed after last month's charade) and the government another £66 AND we are over £500 in credit. SO their request to increase my DD is as usual totally unjustified. Why do they try this on every single month. I might actually try and phone them instead next time.
Tried phoning, also no response to emails any more. So while in the middle of the takeover by Octopus they have no staff left for customer service it seems, just to grab more money.
EDIT: I just cancelled my DD with bulb. The credit I have should cover the next two months and then I reinstate it or if we're with octopus then, just pay whichever way is best.

Appointment sorted and sent replies to as many questions as possible - still have to keep looking for 2 pieces of paper (one of which I thought was in the package I already sent). I think solicitors are like two farmers haggling - all common sense goes out the window, they keep nit picking to justify their fees. I have kept resting in between tidying - every time my legs or back ache and when my temperature goes up or drops. Think I'm just going to read my book for a bit and use lavender balm for the headache.7

Got my payslip from part-time job and it's slightly more than expected. That will go to the vet bill, covers almost all of it. Finalised December's budget, everything looks good.
It's OH's birthday today so I have treated him to a takeaway. Think he deserves it on this occasion! We're away over the weekend so I'm sure there will be many more treats to come.
Also bought a coffee so spent £3. I was out and about doing home visits this afternoon and was cold, wanted a drink and needed the toilet. Maybe I should make an extra coffee in the morning and reheat it. Can you reheat lattes? Suppose there's only one way to find out lol.
Happy weekend everyone!7 -
5 days until payday. I have money left, but only because I finally had my expenses paid this week. I only have my work rota for the next seven days. That is really stressful. I don't have regular days off, or regular hours, so I cannot plan my life.
But I had a day off today and all the laundry is done. The living room is tidy, half the washing up has been done, and all food from stores. The fridge is pretty much empty except for carrots and celery and a yoghurt dip. I am going shopping tomorrow morning before work and will buy veggies and the few bits on my ready-written list. So all in all I think I am as organised as I can be.
NSDs are in double figures and I have £40 left of this week's budget in folding money. 💸 in my purse.
Still not done any C-word shopping yet. Oooh, the danger!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening turtles,
Feel drained after listening to the Wales game this morning!!
Stressy work day but excited for new plans for the future. Nothing planned this evening and house clean tomorrow.
Haircut & eyebrows shaped today. A much needed boost. Haircut budgeted for and eyebrow shape was a treat from my bank switch money as I promised to treat myself to something small from it.
I have £20 left in my petrol pot. Do I leave it? Move it to emergency or pay it off my cc to bring DFD down by 2 days??
Plans made for local town Christmas lights switch on on Monday evening, this should be homework night so moved that to Wednesday.
Snacky day, no alcohol.
Another drawer sorted and items in charity bag. Does anyone know how I can recycle prescription glasses? Can they go in charity bag?
Not an NSD today but should be tomorrow & Sunday.
Grateful for today not being as a bad a work day as expected. Liking my haircut and tidy eyebrows!
No black Friday deals for me. Anything I wanted hadn’t been reduced so maybe I don’t really need it!

Badbookkeeper many opticians have a box for vision aid. The glasses are graded and repaired where necessary, by prisoners in this country, who are learning a trade which may help them on their release and stop them re-offending. The spectacles are then matched with people in developing countries where spectacles are a luxury many cannot afford.
