My DD was 10th and I got the £66 into my bank account on the 18th. Sent it straight back to my BG account though0

My DD is £50 for elec and got the £50 back from BG. Wonder wheres the other £16.
Also i was up to £100 in credit and theyve just sent that back to my bank account as well 🙄0 -
I agree, even the online complaint system has a minimum of 7 day and maximum 21 day wait time with no guarantee of resolution at the end.takethebiscuit_2 said:Jeff, I am in the same position. DD normally goes out on 1st, I think it actually went on the 3rd due to it being the weekend, still no sign of the £66 despite me chasing it twice.
I am not holding my breath, BG only seem to get their act together when you place a formal complaint.
I hate BG with a passion but was transferred to them when my last supplier went bust.0 -
It'll have been put in your credit (and might be in the bit that they've just sent back).killerferret666 said:My DD is £50 for elec and got the £50 back from BG. Wonder wheres the other £16.

Some bit of the direct debit thing says that they can't refund you more than your DD already was I think? Doesn't make a lot of sense, but you should be able to see where it's all gone on your next statement.0 -

Same boat here, Jeff. DD went out on the 3rd - still no trace of the rebate. Multiple calls, online chat and Twitter dm's have so far proven fruitless. Something is clearly a miss, but with the customer services reps offering nothing other than "just wait" I can't see anything happening any time soon. I've requested a call from the department that deals with rebates but had nothing. Useless.

Sadly it appears to be quite a common problem. My first contact with customer services I was told " BG were waiting for the money from the Government" . REALLY!!!!delia said:Same here. I am on a variable direct debit and have been told different things. Firstly that it would go into my bank account once I had paid my direct debit and then it would be credited to my electricity account and I could not access it until my account is reviewed in six months. I feel like we are being treated badly because we only pay for what we use each month and they don't have our money sitting in their account all year. If we paid the same amount each month we could have it in our bank account. It's supposed to help people each month through the winter not wait six months to be able to use it.0

you could always switch to monthly dd for winter and switch back again after the payments have finished if you arent happy with the current arrangement.Janwoodc said:It's supposed to help people each month through the winter not wait six months to be able to use it.
its really not hard to work out your usage and what it will cost if you have your meter readings. someone on here can help if you can post your tarrif details and the readings when you transfered/now.*~Zephyr~* said:
I'm currently nearly £500 in credit because we had a credit balance transfered over from the Together account, plus the £66, plus the £239 BG have insisted on setting the DD at. As BG only bill twice a year, we won't see what our usage will actually cost us for ages yet, which is annoying.Deleted_User said:
Has it never arrived? Or has it arrived and then vanished again?jeffhodgson1 said:Hello all. I am a British gas customer and as yet have not received the £66 government energy payment. There have been a few people recently confused by this, when BG have taken it back out as part of the process for refunding to your bank account.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

For VDD, it seems like it's being credited to accounts. This is reducing the bill you will get in six months time by £400, or reducing the bill you get each month by £67. You already have the whole £400 in your bank - it's the money that you won't need to be spending on your bill.Janwoodc said:I am on a variable direct debit and have been told different things. You don't have to wait six months to use it - actually, you have it faster than anyone else.0
