British gas

Hello all. I am a British gas customer and as yet have not received the £66 government energy payment. I have contacted BG on several occasions about this but still no payment. My DD went out on the 1st October. Is anyone else still waiting for October payment?

Has it never arrived? Or has it arrived and then vanished again?

There have been a few people recently confused by this, when BG have taken it back out as part of the process for refunding to your bank account.

Is any supplier doing that?  Refunding it back to peoples bank accounts?

As far as I was aware, its been credited to the energy account to be offset against usage - it will never be actually sent to me.

I'm currently nearly £500 in credit because we had a credit balance transfered over from the Together account, plus the £66, plus the £239 BG have insisted on setting the DD at.  As BG only bill twice a year, we won't see what our usage will actually cost us for ages yet, which is annoying.

Does anyone know if its possible to get BG to bill monthly at all?

Everyone on fixed DD is either getting it refunded to their bank or their DD reduced by that amount.  Same effect, £66 more in your bank account but the same credit into your energy account.

BG are - my DD went out on the 3rd and the £66 was received in my bank account on the 10th - 5 working days

Definitely hasn't been received. BG customer services have assured me 3 times it will be sorted within days. 
Don't know why I'm surprised. Past experience with BG has never ended well.

Haven't had mine yet either.  I'm on variable monthly DD and they are supposed to raise a bill every month but I had to chase them this month in middle of month for the bill so it wasn't raised at the beginning of the month as usual. The DD is therefore going out tomorrow and hopefully they'll then apply the credit otherwise I'll give them to Weds and then chase.

Thanks. Hopefully it'll get sorted soon & hopefully it won't be an ongoing problem.

Jeff, I am in the same position. DD normally goes out on 1st, I think it actually went on the 3rd due to it being the weekend, still no sign of the £66 despite me chasing it twice.
 I am not holding my breath, BG only seem to get their act together when you place a formal complaint.
