Lifespan of treacle?

Not every individual retail outlet of a supermarket chain sells exactly the same products. This is due to some items selling better or worse in a particular area.
Google the HQ customer services (not the complaints section) for their freephone number / email address (or both).  Asda helped my friend with a similar problem about three years back.

It's also available on that internet giant's website if you do online ordering - 3 tins for £7.49 (That'd probably last a century though)

Even if it's not on sale all year, I'd expect it to be available around now for making treacle toffee and toffee apples for Halloween and Bonfire Night.
And possibly for putting in Christmas cakes.
  • Good thought, Pollycat
  • I saw some in Morri's today

Thank you , may resort to this if the hunt proves elusive.
P@Pollycat good idea 💡 need to start the hunt now 🧐
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.
  • Amber syrup - possibly what's now known as golden syrup? Amber = golden?

Amber syrup is a bit darker than golden syrup, and there is an even darker version called brown syrup.  They are all "invert sugar syrups" with a slightly different blend of component sugars.

I haven't seen amber syrup in any retailer, but it is used in the food industry.  You'll see "invert sugar syrup" listed as an ingredient in various processed foods.

I've just replaced my tins of golden syrup and treacle with squeezy bottles. The tins were BBE 2005 and were fine - i'd just used up the syrup and when I saw the squeezy bottles thought what a good idea to avoid dipping a spoon in.

Dipping the spoon in is the best bit, means there is a syrupy spoon to lick clean afterwards :D
