That bit about the end coming off is not a phobia it is a real fear.  Would it help to know that I have had mine over a year & I still struggle to get the end off to clean them & yes I worried about that too.  If you are concerned about spending on something you feel you may not need, why not just go for the free ones & see how that goes.  If they are helpful then you can always upgrade.  I cannot upgrade because the damage to the insides of my ears is such that any upgrade will put my ears at risk of infection.  So what I have is the best I can get whatever extra I choose to pay, so it would be pointless.
The disadvantages - I accompanied a friend to court a few months ago & obviously had to go through security.  It is funny now but if my hearing was bad before then I could have done with sign language as I could just see people's mouths moving & absolutely no sound coming out.  As soon as we moved away it was fine.  I have similar but not as dramatic effects in supermarkets & cafes near fridges & freezers.  So I now know that if I am with someone then only to go to cafes & restaurants where it is possible to sit well away from electric & electronic stuff.

Well, I never knew that electronic stuff could stop them working properly. That's not good. I will ask the audiologist about that.
I'm not sure the free ones will help, as I have been told NHS ones are about 3-4 years behind with the technology, and my problem isn't so much that I can't hear, but that I'm not picking out certain consonants, accents & ranges. Also if the person is behind me etc.  Sometimes the TV can be loud, & I can hear the sound, but just can't work out the words they are saying.  Also approx 18 months wait for NHS in this area, then they only do  follow up after 10 weeks. With B00ts, they follow up every 2 weeks for the first 3 months in case you need any more tweaking.

I got mine within days via specsavers from GP referral.  Different areas seem to be really really different.

The RSPCA are only interested if a dog is not being given food, water and shelter. The council is supposed to deal with noise complaints but from experience dont get your hopes up.

Well, what a lovely sunny day it has been.
Got 2 loads of washing dry outside, both 30c washes, and none of it needs ironing.
Yesterday we ordered another water butt, a slimline one, for DH to fix by the shed, as he has a metal shed and loads of rain runs of that. As it is down near the garage, he will be able to use it for cleaning his motorbike and the car.
Bought 1 pack of compost on Saturday, ready for me to start on garden stuff this week. Will be out tidying it all up in a bit, and tomorrow afternoon.

Today was the start of the new budget period, and I went to L!d! and Mr S for some shopping.....but forgot to get the pasta, and my body lotion.....I like the big tubs of Nivea. So will have to nip back in either tomorrow morning or Thursday, when I am passing.
Had £ 5 left in last month's buffer pot, so that was sent to holiday pot.  Will be cashing out a bit more from P/fc in a bit, and that will put my March survey earnings at around £60.  In April, I need to concentrate on more Op*n**m and 1P*!!, not done many of them lately, and they do add up quite nicely.  Managed to keep the yearly total just under the £1K, so won't be needing to declare it and do an SA.

Got  busy week this week.  An appointment tomorrow morning, then going to a taster session for Barre Pilates to see if I think it will help my joint/flexibility/strength etc.  Then Thursday is line dancing.   Come to the conclusion that if my personal spends get spent on dance/exercise/massage etc, then that is fine. Can't put a price on good health, and its not like I want to spend it on many other things...apart from the odd bar of chocolate. I have pots for everything else. And the surveys/studies all help.
So, off for 10 mins in the garden, and then get dinner ready. Got some chilli to use up, so might do that on a jacket potato.
    Have a good evening all

Happy April.  Been lovely and sunny here, but a bit of  breeze.
Had  good day, so far.  Barre Pilates class was good, and I think I may join up now I've done the taster session.  Only a small class, which is nice, and they are all very friendly. One lady even lent me a yoga mat, as I didn't take mine, as was told there was definitely no mat work involved....lol.  But turns out they do 5 mins of mat to stretch legs and hips at the end.  That's about enough floor work for me, as I prefer standing exercises.   Then on the way home I stopped at garden centre. Recently been taken over by a different company, and not nearly as good. Very pricey now, apart from some strawberry plants and some herbs that seemed good value. Will go to the smaller independent one another day.
Then when I got home, I did 20 mins tidying in the garden.

Not many MSE things to report, other than its so nice we don't need the heat on any more. Didn't do any washing today, but weather looks good all week.
Cashed out my final P/fc amount for March last night, and pleased to say I ended on exactly £60 for the month, very pleased with that.  Must try and find time to do more 1P*!! and Op*n**m next month, I seem to run out of time for them and they are quite good earners in the long run.  Y!*ve been very slow lately.
Dinner tonight is a pork pie and salad, so not much cooking involved there....lol

Need to go and get dinner sorted. Looking forward to more sunshine tomorrow.

So we are having water meter installed next Monday, and were told that they wouldn't start collecting normal water rates as we had applied before the start of April.....guess what??  Today they have taken £100DD for normal water rates!  Currently on hold to speak to them  and apparently the average wait time is 50mins!!!  Why is nothing simple these days?

So annoying about the water rates.  I agree it's never straightforward is it?
