I agree @Makingabobor2 - the feeling of getting a brilliant price is tinged with irritation that loyal customers are taken for mugs and are charged the maximum possible amount. (As my grandad used to say "at least !!!!!! Turpin wore a mask") I'd be interested to know from marketing/data crunching experts how many people just renew.
we are with GF too so I'm going off to check our renewal date now. I think it might be sometime in May so I'll double check the website for prices too. Thanks for the heads up and well done on your saving!1 -
Well done on the saving but annoying you had to do all the comparison stuff in the first place as a loyal customer.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

At our last renewal, GF increased the amount quite a lot so I looked on their website, input our details & of course the price came out a lot lower. I phoned them & asked why as a loyal returning customer they think I'd want to pay so much more than a new one. The chap I spoke to matched the online price instantly. They must get sufficient numbers of people renewing at the higher price (aka massive swizz) to make this charade worth continuing. It doesn't exactly generate goodwill.

I agree @foxgloves. It almost makes you want to move elsewhere. But then I imagine most companies are playing the same game. I think its possibly the older generation, who aren't so computer savvy, who are the ones renewing at the higher price. Its so wrong.Making the debt go down and savings go up

I find this practice by insurance companies appalling verging on the criminal, there are so many people who can not or do not want to play the game and wish to stay loyal but are being penalised for doing so.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Just a quick post for another little moan....sorry.. STW, were supposed to come today to install the water meter, after not turning up last time. Guess what? So far they have not put in an appearance, and although they say they can come any time up to 6pm, I very much doubt that they will turn up now. So another phone call, to be told they don't know why they didn't turn up as it is contacted out to an outside company! Then probably another few weeks to wait to get another appointment and having to go through all the hassle again of asking the neighbours not to park outside our house on the day. Also it means another month of having to pay the full water rates of £100! To say I am a little bit angry is an understatement!Making the debt go down and savings go up

Just to say, I did ring & was told " oh yes, I can see you were down for a meter today". She then said the dept who make the appointments was closed & she would email a supervisor to call me in the morning. Let's see if it happensMaking the debt go down and savings go up

Many of the people on MSE are getting rebates for having repairmen not show up on time. When you talk to them, see if they can offer you some sort of amount off your bill also.1
