I was wondering if dark chocolate might help. Recently I've been enjoying squares of 85% chocolate.

Yes, I think when I only had dark chocolate in the house, I wasn't so bad. Must stop buying the rubbish. Its not like I really enjoy it, I really only do enjoy the really dark stuff

If you enjoy dark chocolate have a couple of squares of that. I used to buy those really tiny bars of Green & Black’s. I used to like dark chocolate but I went off it. I’m not a massive chocolate fan anyway. I like it but not enough to buy it.

Today's post....part 2....I typed loads just now and then somehow it all vanished. No idea what I clicked on...lol.. Anyway lets go again

So I've been feeling a bit stressed out, tired and not quite 100% in control of everything the last week or so, hence my lack of being online. I am trying to limit the time I spend on computers and phones and just make sure I use it only for important things. So decided MSE is very important, so I must try harder to post more often. I know I've been out of sorts, as IBS has been playing up and not sleeping too well, feel like I've got a million things to do etc, so had some Reflexology today, to try and sort myself out.   Must admit I feel a lot better already and more in control of things.

Just cashed out £34 from TCB, been waiting ages for it. Hopefully will be in the bank any day now. Still waiting for a refund from the Bay of E, that was issued on 2nd May and said would take 3-5 days, so no idea where that is.

Surveys and studies been quite good, although P/fc is still taking a while to approve the payments.

On the negative side of money making, not sure if I mentioned it before, but when I had my private pension this month, I was taxed £20...even though I will only just go over the tax threshold this tax year, now that both state and private pension has risen slightly.  So today they emailed me to say they had changed my tax code again and to log in to see about it. So I had a look and under a section entitled "Non coded income".....no idea what that means, it said I had £2467 of income from anther source!!  No I really don't.  So it allowed me to say no this income doesn't exist and now it seems to have righted itself and says I should pay the grand sum of just £8 this tax year. So presume I will get the over paid tax back.  Honestly, its a good job I am a young " senior" and understand how to use the internet, as there is no hope at all of speaking to a human to sort these things out. We'll just see what happens next month when I get my pension.

Another negative is that my temp filling has come out and had to make an appointment for next week to have it put back I'm hoping he might do it FOC as its only been in since March. It has been replaced before, but I am reluctant to have a crown done.....A), because I hate dentists with a passion, and B) because it is so expensive, C) because I really don't want root canal.  He says it is ok to leave it as it doesn't cause me any problems. So fingers crossed he will replace it for free and it will be ok.

So how about some more positive things after those negatives.....well the veggie plants seem to be coming along ok.  Stopped at L!d! on my way home this morning and got 15% off my favourite loaf and also there was a lovely new lady on the checkouts and she was a complete joy. Friendly and efficient and just so jolly and joyful to everyone. She was an older lady, I would say in late 60s to 70s TBH, obviously wanting a few hours to top up her pension and so not getting stressed about her job as it isn't her number 1 priority. Made me think maybe I could do something like that now I am retired.  Will think on it.

So think that's about it for today. Chips for tea tonight....cooked in airfryer, not from chippy...lol   DH always likes pie and chips on a Friday with mushy peas. Yuk....!  I will have a few chips with some fish and lots of veggies.  Then tomorrow its my favourite salmon, so something for him to moan about....lol

    Have a good evening everyone.

  • Hi - I have subscribed to your thread after seeing you on the Frump to Fab thread, where you gave me some excellent advice about exercise (and advised me not to spend all my free time on screen time). I still do, however, spend far too much time on here!!

I agree about checking pensions. I’m probably slightly older than you (68) but I can work out to literally the penny what tax I should pay (it’s not hard, is it?) but you do need to keep and eye on things as mistakes do happen. They shouldn’t, but unfortunately they do.

You are very welcome @FreetodoasIlike, and can I say I love your username.  I'm glad you found the exercise advice useful. I still follow the lady on FB and find it is helping no end, i even bought myself a 4kg kettle bell the other week so I can do the bone loading class easier. As I have Osteoporosis, that's definitely something I need.
Yes I still have too much screen time but am trying very hard to cut down now, MSE always seems a useful bit of screen time as its about saving money and connecting with all my like minded MSE friends for great tips. Its FB I need to try and curb, I need it for my exercise lady, and nice to see when DD posts photos of what they are up to etc, but I am sick and tired of the rubbish on there and do find myself " deaths scrolling" as they call it, which I am really  trying not to do and think I may be winning on that score..  Its just so hard these days isn't it?  Anything you need or want to do, you seem to have to go online...holidays, train tickets, bus timetables, buying clothes, looking for advice....its all there.  I have made it a rule now, not to go online after 8pm unless someone messages me urgently. I need to sleep better and I can see it helping. Although for some reason I woke up in the night last night and was awake for over an hour I think....I try not to look at the time.  I should have got up to look for the northern lights...lol.  We missed them as didn't think they'd get as far as the Midlands, but it turns out they were right down past the south coast. Will try and look tonight.

    Not much happening today.
2 loads of washing done and dried for free in the sunshine.
Found a lovely top in the CS for £2.50
The refund from the Bay of E turned up, so that was helpful.
Made up some home made, chemical free weedkiller and sprayed it. Not many to do this time as it worked really well last time
No surveys around today, and still waiting on some to approve on P/fc

So that's about it really. Stir fry for dinner tonight and then DH wants to watch Eurovision....not sure I can last 3 hours of rubbish, so will probably to some jigsaw puzzle and then go to bed early and read. I just feel its always such a waste of time and an anti-climax.

hope you all have a good evening.

I love Eurovision 😍 Brings back happy memories of watching it with my mom when I was a kid filling in the score card in the Radio Times, we took it very seriously 😆 Not sure I’ll be awake for the results though, usually in bed by 9pm.
