My mum & dad always listened to The Archers @Debsnewbudget, I've not heard it for over 40 years...lol. Also mum used to listen to Mrs Dale's Diary...does anyone remember that?

Our local library service uses both BorrowBox and Libby/Overdrive to access them you need your library card number plus your library PIN. Your PIN should be able to be given to you at any branch of your local library when you show your library card, they will also be able to tell you which online providers they use. Some library authorities may have additional ways you can also get your PIN.
If you are wanting to get audiobooks physical format your library authority may stock these which you will be able to request to be delivered to a branch of your choice either for a small fee or free.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Managed to get onto Borrowbox on library. Just downloaded my 1st book. Thanks for all the advice.
Luckily this one is read by the author and he has a nice voice. A non fiction called Outlive, The Science & Art of Longevity.Making the debt go down and savings go up

I use Libby which is linked to my local library. Use it every week. Money that I have saved from not buying magazines like I used to soon mounts up. Not all magazines are on there but luckily enough the ones I read are.:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.001

I remeber Mrs Dales diary and still listen to the Archers if I happen to be in the kitchen when its on. I really regret Radio 4 moving the time of the Sunday omnibus edition to 11am as Mr LH is usually around and talking so I dont get to listen to much of it.1

You could use BBC sounds to listen to either the omnibus or the individual episodes.ladyholly said:I remeber Mrs Dales diary and still listen to the Archers if I happen to be in the kitchen when its on. I download a lot of programmes on BBC Sounds to listen to when I have time. You can listen to them offline too so I can listen to them when I’m walking to work without using my data.Baileys_Babe said:

Well, not much to report really, but thought I would pop on and say Hi. Pleased to report that so far this month/year, I have spent very little money, apart from the afore mentioned BP monitor and 12 eggs. Pension day was Monday and the start of the new 4 week budget period. So money has been transferred to various pots etc. As we are still eating our way through the freezer/cupboards I haven't had to get any shopping this week, but I have just done a Mr S order for Saturday morning, as the weather looks pretty grim, and if DH keeps taking the car for work, instead of his motor bike, I can't get to L!d! or anywhere else apart from the C00p...and I will only use C00p if I am very desperate. So I have just ordered a bit over the minimum I need to, as we need a few fresh bits, and there are a few bits I can't get in L!D! anyway.....we like Mr S coffee and loo rolls and if the weather changes and I do make it out on Friday, I can always cancel it and nip to L!d!. I don't like getting veg from supermarkets really, prefer the market or farm shop, but as they say....beggars can't be choosers with the bad weather.
Had a few P/fc studies so will cash out later, the first of the new year, and will send the money to the debt pot for extra payments. Still waiting on another £2 from YL!v* , so I can cash out £50. Its 13 months now since my last cash out with them. I'm sure they slow it down once they see you are getting near the limit.
Did I mention that I had signed up to N**!s*n 1Q panel to scan receipts and shopping:? Well obviously I can't report how that is going yet, as I haven't done much shopping yet this year....so watch this space! I currently have 1090 points and it says I need 3050 to cash out a £30 voucher. The points so far are from surveys and I also managed to scan the receipt for the BP monitor I bought. So we'll see how it goes. Does anyone else use it?
Listened to my first book on Borrowbox audio books from the library. Have another one reserved that will be available from 12th Jan. I find it odd that you can't just download them at any time, and only one person at a time can have it on loan....seems strange for an audio book. I do need to get myself a couple of physical books to read, as I'm finding reading from my Kindle at night, is not helping with my sleep. It seems to pay with my brain more. Very odd. It is a Kindle Paperwhite, so should be ok from the white light perspective. So not sure why it does it. TBH, since I got my new glasses, I am struggling more with phone and laptop and getting more headaches, so wondering if my prescription is actually too strong. Might go over and see them about it once the weather improves. Its about 6 miles away, and I can't be doing with going at the moment, again its not on a bus route, so would need the car. And I wouldn't drive in icy horrible weather anyway. Roll on Spring....LOL
Managed to get some washing on the line this morning while it was sunny and windy, and it 90% dried, so pleased with that.
Dinner tonight is sausages that were in the Christmas meat hamper we had from butchers. They are very tasty so I will be asking him which ones they were, next time I go in, and buying some more. Not sure whether to have them tonight with small roasties, using potatoes from the garden that I dug up at end of November, or wedges.
Well that's about it for now. Have a good evening everyone.Making the debt go down and savings go up
