Earlier this week I had a slice of toast and Marmite, for the first time in years, it was delicious 😋Makingabobor2 said:

We need to get back to meal planning, we don't even know what we are having today 🤦
Think we have all eaten too much these last few days and could just do with a nice slice of toast and marmite TBH....lolFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I love Marmite, especially on crumpets. My mum used to spread it on the skins of a baked potato...very yummyBaileys_Babe said:

I enjoy reading your posts too. Like you, I'm thinking through plans and setting intentions for 2026.
I like marmite, but crumpets are definitely meant for jam not marmite. MrBC and I debate this matter whenever we have crumpets. He continues to be wrong about putting marmite and cheese on crumpets 🤢. Our local butcher sells cheese and marmite sausages which are very tasty in a sandwich. He makes a batch once a fortnight and they sell out very quickly!1 -
On the odd occasion we have crumpets, I usually opt for 2, one with marmite or cheese & marmite or butter and salt & pepper, the second one I enjoy with syrup 🤤Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Happy New year everyone. We were in bed before 10 last night, but did wake up at midnight when the fireworks went off. Luckily they didn't go on for long, but I couldn't get back to sleep for ages.
Walked to the C00p this morning, first time out for a week, but decided I felt well enough now to venture out. The cold really hit me though and I was glad we didn't go too far. I seem to have that Raynauds syndrome started in the last year or so and fingers just go so white and painful, even with gloves and thermals on. Even my foot and toes were hurting today. Not sure if its worth speaking to the Dr about it. We were only out about 25 mins, but it did say the temps felt like -3. Dropped off the plastic recycling and bought a reduced loaf which I also had a 20p off voucher for, so a good MSE win there.
After we got back and I eventually thawed out, I have spent some time getting my 2026 calendar ready. All birthdays/anniversaries/ insurance dates/MOT etc logged, along with any dentist appointments etc that we already have. I also took great pleasure in marking off the days when we are away in August and also the concert we have booked for September with money from our Fun Pot. Not been to a concert or theatre since pre covid, so really looking forward to that as it is one of my heroes of the musical theatre world.
Tomorrow I will sit down with ledgers/diary etc and write up some plans and alter my MSE diary to reflect all my new goals. Still have time, as new budget period doesn't start till Monday.
Paid an extra £ 5 to the debt pot today, from a V!nt*d sale...start as I mean to go on.
On Wednesday I ordered some supplements from N*t**es B*st, as they had sent me a £3 off code that expired last night. I always get my stuff from them. I ordered 3 months supply as it worked out cheaper and then it said I had £1.10 to use in loyalty points, so that brought it down even more.
My plan this year includes trying to read 52 books, only managed 23 last year. But I did do 20 jigsaw puzzles, so will continue with those. I also intend to continue with the OU free course that I signed up to , and haven't done any of for ages. Want to get that finished and then sign up for a few more that look interesting.
Just watching Pride & Prejudice now, while DH is upstairs playing on his guitar. Love that series so much, no other adaptation comes close. Looking forward to the new one, The Other Bennett Sister, which is coming out this month. Love a good period drama.
Well, think its time to sort tea out. We have chicken casserole done in the slow cooker today.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Does anyone listen to audio books? I think I've read that @foxgloves does?? Is there a free app at all for it? The Big River site are offering 3 months at 99p a month and then its £8.99. Certainly not paying £8.99, but wonder whether to give the 99p a go. I do like to listen to podcasts while I'm cleaning, working online etc, and thought maybe audio books might be a good idea. Especially if its a lovely calming voice, it might lull me to sleep. Wouldn't give up the normal reading though,
Next question, has anyone got a BP monitor? And if so, which one do you have and do you think it is very accurate? Its a bit of a mine field.Making the debt go down and savings go up
