  • In the past though, my neighbours only ever used Channels 1, 6 or 11. Occasionally I would see other channels being used causing Co-channel interference but I think just like my TalkTalk router used to do, it must be other routers automatically changing to another channel if it detects strong inference on the same channel or an overlapping channel.
  • Ok, so potentially your router is knackered.

I know it is new, but a factory reset would be my next move then moan at Vodafone or buy your own router / mesh system and escape the clutches of low quality ISP "free" routers.

Here's the results from my inSSIDer:

That is the 5Ghz signal, I thought it was the 2.4Ghz signal you are having issues with. What is that one like in the app?

If it doesn't show up when stood next to it then there could well be an antenna issue in the hub, so a hardware issue.
  • Yes I am having problems with my 2.4GHz signal. I am just showing you what my 5GHz signal is like from the router and what the 2.4GHz signals are like that can be received and displayed on inSSIDer. I basically said before that my 2.4GHz signal is too weak to appear in the list (unless I brought my laptop and router much closer together and did a screenshot of inSSIDer then..

Difficult to fix a potential hardware fault from the internet.

Have you told Vodafone there is a potential hardware fault with the router?
  • I will get onto them and explain everything and hopefully they will understand and send an engineer for free or just replace my router.
