Are you sure you're not mixing up standing orders with CPAs or subscriptions? I can't see how paying rent could ever qualify as a subscription. But it's easy enough to set up a standing order to pay someone £XXX each month. And you can just as easily cancel it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I have spoken in depth with my old landlord and they have attempted to find out through their own systems what may have happened. They have never set up a subscription on any account and their accounts dept said they wouldn't know how. They confirmed in writing a fully paid up rent statement that had never gone into arrears. Packlink also said similar.
HSBC have reopened the complaint and I'm waiting to hear back. If they uphold it again, I'll request a letter of deadlock and pass it over to the Ombudsman. In the meantime I've switched banks. Having been with HSBC for decades, this is one of many issues I've had with them of late, so time to move on.0
