Is it Premier Property Lawyers by any chance? We are in the same boat as you, although we've just this week managed to get the ID issue sorted and that's now showing complete on eWay. It was outstanding since August! But don't hold your breath for any progress, they are less than useless, we've been having to call and chase every day, they are rude, do not do what they say they are doing, take forever to respond to anything of any kind, manager callback was promised but as yet I'm still waiting. Hoping to exchange asap, going into weekend after weekend with no progress is really quite annoying.
Good Luck!

Yes our file is complete other than the ID checks we are ready to exchange. My email is correct on the system as i receive all communication. They just keep saying the need to get a link sent and will contact the IT department0

Its a problem relating to purple bricks and the conveyancer they force you to use.
8 weeks for id checks is just pure incompetence which this lot are well known for.

Usually, ID checks are done at the beginning of the process.
ID checks should not be a problem, a lot of firms use apps where you can upload documents.0 -
Keep pushing.In-Laws bought a house last year, a new solicitor at the practice took over the file and realised ID checks hadn't been done properly. They demanded ID from SIL who was contributing part of funds but she was in Australia, they were in a lockdown to the outside world and the certified paperwork had to be hard copies. Documents got stuck at the airport for weeks. It got sorted in the end but the estate agents were verbally quite nasty to us trying to force us to abandon our purchase (which was further along) and pay over my SIL's contribution ourselves as that purchase was 'clearly more important'. (We weren't involved in purchase but as in-laws we're living overseas, we got used as UK contact.Hassle them until you get your ID checked, take the initiative and if say IT issue, then respond with asking what alternative solution they propose.May you find your sister soon Helli.

Checking ID isn't some complicated IT process that only a machine can do.. That might be the automated way they choose to handle a routine task, but that doesn't mean its the only way.
Raise it as a complaint, in order to get the attention of someone who will actually try a workaround - eg manually checking your ID and overriding whatever tickbox in the system.0 -
