Changed back to my fixed tariff from SVR with EDF

When did you cancel the fixed tariff you are trying to get back on now?
OP did so within the last 14 days.0 -
I'm still in the 14 days cooling off, just. Signed up on 5th October.

I am very surprised that the OP got agreement to go back onto the fix.
Cancelling a fixed tariff should not give you a cool off, you are not taking out a new deal, you are just cancelling one and go back onto the default SVT.1 -
This is the webchat I had with them, I’m not sure why I could change back and you haven’t been given the same option.NightRate said:So asking EDF, this is the response.
"I understand your query I would have been glad to assist you get back to the Tariff however after the increase in the prices in October 2022 by the Ofgem we now only have the Standard Variable on offer and dont have any Fixed Tariffs"

I'm just going with the email they sent when changing, saying you have "14 days to change your mind".

Oh no. Is it worth asking again maybe with the same as what I said. Total long shot but nothing to lose I guess. I didn’t mention gov price cap / anything else. Just said I’m within in 14 days etc

@NightRate if you do try again and get told the same Ofgem story, please ask exactly what they say Ofgem are dictating. I can't believe they've actually banning 14 day cooling off periods being honoured...1

It's the right answer for the wrong reason. You get a cooling off period when signing a contract, not when cancelling one.Ultrasonic said:@NightRate if you do try again and get told the same Ofgem story, please ask exactly what they say Ofgem are dictating. But if they choose to write "you have 14 days to change your mind" on the letter - they should be honouring that at least.0 -
That’s the email that was sent to me on the first day of my new contract:
I’ll save money this winter on the SVR. It’s the second year I’m more interested in.0
